Miguel Lopez thought that he was indestructible because he possessed the most powerful weapon in the world. He didn’t want to die just yet, not especially that he already found the Land of Gold.

“Kneel!” Bayani commanded Miguel Lopez.

Miguel Lopez could no longer control the movement of his body. It wounded his pride to kneel to someone whom he deemed inferior to him. He always saw himself superior above anyone else. It was the greatest shame of his life.

The Maharlikans looked at Miguel Lopez with disdain.

“Aren’t you the most superior conqueror who sees himself above anyone else? What are you now? You are kneeling down before the people you wanted to conquer like a defeated dog. I don’t know what you are but you have no right to go around any countries and possess their people and their rich resources like it’s rightfully yours. You are just a stranger in that country so you must respect the people living in it. Where are your minions now? They are all leaving you and running away from you with their tails between their legs. Now, show your humility to us. Just apologize to us and beg for forgiveness and we will spare your life.”

Miguel Lopez was still full of pride even on the brink of his death. He spat at Bayani but blood went out from his mouth.

Bayani had no choice but to stabbed the heart of Miguel Lopez with his bolo to injure his pride even more. Miguel Lopez fell on the ground.

The Maharlikans didn’t chase the rest of the Spaniards anymore. They just let them go for they didn’t want anymore bloodshed in their island. They only wanted peace. They didn’t anticipate that their act of mercy would one day give the Spaniards the power to rule their country for 300 years in the future.

Queen Raya watched how the battle unfolded from the terrace of her palace. She looked at Bayani with great admiration for his bravery. She was very pleased that none of her warriors was killed. They’re may be some who got wounded but their wounds were not that big.
