I was by the old basketball court just shooting a few hoops with Nova and Holly while Audrey watched I was enjoying myself and it was mainly because as I told her to Hillory had stayed away. I had gone a week hardly seeing her apart from class and lunch I was happy, I had the ball and Nova was eyeing me waiting for me to take the shot as I evaded Holly's attempts to get the ball off me. I weaved away from Holly and she tripped over her own feet and then Nova made her moves she dove for the ball and pushed it but to my advantage, I used her momentum to spin the ball round to my other side and took the shot. I cheered as the ball fell gracefully through the hoop as Audrey clapped, Nova nodded at my skill and Holly hit her fist on the ground having lost for the tenth time in a row.

"Oh hey there cat," I said as I saw her standing there.

"Cat," Holly said looking up.

"Hello, girls" Cat said smiling.

"Hey, Cat you need something or are you just here for Holly" Nova said.

"Not that I wouldn't love to spend every spare moment with her I am actually here to tell you about an announcement that you no doubt missed being out here the whole time," Cat said as she came and sat next to Holly on the ground.

"Announcement huh, what about," I said as Nova and I sat with them.

"Well the school is putting on an event called the Ball Of Love," Cat said.

"Ball you mean like ballroom dancing and stuff," I said.

"Wasn't specified in the announcement but that is the idea yeah," Cat said.

"Sounds like fun when is it happening," Holly said.

"Tow weeks so that the girls can go out and buy some fancy dresses and the boys can buy tuxes," Cat said.

"So there is a dress code," I said.

"Yeah, and that being said Cat will you accompany me to the ball," Holly said leaning her head to Cat and resting it in her lap.

"Only for you," Cat said kissing Holly.

"Wait so are teachers allowed to attend the ball," I asked.

"Those dating students are yes," Cat said.

"What about the rest?" Nova asked.

"They will be handling food, drinks, music and security," Cat said.

"So this ball will even have security," I said.

"Yes in simple terms," Cat said.

"Well, in any case, we need to organize a shopping trip with the others so we can buy our dresses because I do not own a dress at least not a formal one," Nova said.

"Why don't we do it this Saturday," I said.

"I got no plans," Holly said

"Might as well get it out of the way," Nova said.

"Audrey," I said turning to her and she and she nodded.

"Sweet I'll text the others," I said pulling out my phone.

It was Friday and I was on the sofa headphones on blasting Hollywood Undead in my eras I had my eyes closed as I let the music take me away and then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I open my eyes to see Nova standing over me she smiled and I took my headphones off she leaned in and kissed me and I smiled at her after pulling away.

"Hey so since classes are over for the day wanna come with me somewhere more private," Nova said.

"Sure," I said as I paused my music.

"Come on follow me," Nova said taking my hand.

Nova took me out of the school and to a small park she then pulled me behind a few bushes and there was a beautiful lake with flowers everywhere if I wasn't standing here I wouldn't believe it.

"Hey so I brought you here for two reasons," Nova said as she pulled me down and we sat on the ground.

"Yeah," I said.

"Now don't think less of me but I think we should just forget about everything for a bit and I have found that the best way to do that is by using this" Nova said holding up a pack of cigarettes.

"Cigarettes?" I said.

"Modified ones but put simply yes," Nova said.

"Modified how?" I said.

"They're supposed to have an increase in nicotine but less damaging to health" Nova said looking at the pack in her hands.

"Okay one," I said and Nova smiled at me.

"Thanks," Nova said handing me a cigarette.

"This had better be good," I said.

"Trust me it will," Nova said lighting her cigarette before handing me the lighter.

"Coch coch coch Is it ment to be like that," I said coughing.

"Everyone coughs their first time I did, lie down it's better that way," Nova said.

"Fine," I said laying down next to her.

The two of us just lay there as the nicotine took over and we talked and laughed about nothing and everything I intertwined my fingers with hers as the high wore off. Nova rubbed my hand with her thumb and I gave her hand a squeeze before she rolled over on her side and pulled my head into her for a kiss I smiled into the kiss and pulled her on top of me. We must have been kissing for about an hour as by the time we got up to leave the sun had begun to set bathing the sky in a beautiful golden warm glow. When we got back to the school all the notice boards had flyers and posters promoting the ball they were everywhere the school may be getting a little too into this. I took a flyer off one of the notice boards that had more than one and Nova and I began reading it in case there was any new info that Cat had left out all we could find was a time frame and location.

"7 to 12 huh," Nova said.

"In the main grate hall, we have a main great hall," I said.

"It's probably where we had orientation," Nova said.

"Yeah that would make sense it is the biggest room here," I said letting the flyer fall to my side.

"What's wrong babe," Nova said seeing the look on my face.

"Nothing but I did just realise that we don't know how to ballroom dance," I said.

"Not exactly," Nova said.

"What," I said.

"Well, my dad made me go to ballroom dance lessons as a kid so if you like I can take you through the basic steps," Nova said her cheeks a little red with embarrassment.

"Well well, my little Nova can ballroom dance can she," I said putting my hands on her hips.

"Yes, and we will be practising in secret so if you tell anyone you will regret it," Nova said making me laugh before I kissed her.
