Omniscient
Ariana and Amari walked inside of a small diner side by side. Earlier, they'd met up at a rock climbing place, now they were getting something to eat. Amari had suggested the small diner since Ariana had mentioned something about soul food. This was one of his favorite spots to come to when he wanted a good homecooked meal.
Since the restaurant was cafeteria style they grabbed a plate and began walking towards the food. Ariana scanned the variety of food choices, trying to decide what she wanted. Amari was ahead of her already telling the ladies what he wanted on his plate. He always got fried chicken thighs, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, candied yams, and cornbread.
After a few seconds of debating Ariana decided to get a baked leg quarter, macaroni and cheese, black eyed pees, and some cornbread. She was hoping that the food was going to taste as good as it looked. When Ariana and Amari had gotten their plates they got their drinks and headed to an empty table. They both prayed over their food, then began digging in.
"You like it?" Amari questioned Ariana after she took a few bites of her food.
"Yeah it's really good. How'd you find out about this place?" Ariana questioned curiously, it was in a small low class neighborhood.
"My aunt owns it."
"Really?" Amari nodded his head.
"That's cool, do you think you'll ever open your own business one day?" Ariana questioned, trying to spark up a conversion.
"Not really, I've always wanted to be an architect."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I plan on going back to school one day." Amari had completed his freshman year of college and didn't return.
"You should." Ariana encouraged him.
"Yeah, did you have fun today?" Amari questioned, changing the subject.
"Yeah, that's not something I would usually do." Ariana laughed.
"That's why I took you." Amari wanted to do something to get her out of her comfort zone.
"Well thank you I enjoyed it."
After Ariana and Amari finished eating they headed back to the rock climbing place so Ariana could get her car. Amari had driven them to the diner.
"Thank you for taking me out I really enjoyed myself." Ariana sat in her car while Amari leaned on her driver's door.
"You welcome, you going let me take you out again?" Amari questioned. Ariana blushed before responding.
"How about I plan where we go next time."
"That's cool." Amari didn't care who planned it, he just wanted to go out with her again.
"Alright, well I'm going to head home."
"Ight, text me when you get there."
"Okay." Ariana started her car and began her drive home.
Amari walked to his car after Ariana began driving down the street. He was going to head to get Kenzie from her mother's house. He was going to take her shopping and to the movies later.
When Amari arrived to Kenzie's house he got out and knocked on the door. Her mother answered in a furry robe and her hair all over the place.
"Damn, rough night?" Amari chuckled.
"Yeah, I have a hangover." Raven laughed. "You can come in." Raven stood to the side so that Amari could step inside of the house.
"Where Kenzie?" Amari questioned.
