Omniscient
Ariana stood in her closet looking at her outfit in her full body mirror. It was Thanksgiving Day and she was getting ready to go with Amari to his family's house. She was a bit nervous because she didn't know if his family would like her or not.
"I don't like this sweater." Ariana mumbled, taking the turtle neck sweater off.
As she began looking for something else her phone began ringing. She rolled her eyes and answered it, not seeing who was calling.
"Hello." Ariana answered.
"I'm outside." Amari spoke through the phone.
"Okay, just give me a minute." Amari sucked his teeth.
"I called you an hour ago and told you to get ready, so why you not ready?" It annoyed Amari when people weren't ready when he was picking them up.
"I am, I just need to find another top to wear."
"Throw on some shit and come on. I'm hungry."
"I'll be out in a minute."
"If you not out in five minutes I'm leaving." Amari threatened. Ariana rolled her eyes at his extraness.
"Whatever." Ariana hung up the phone and continued searching for a top.
Since she didn't see any tops she wanted to wear, she just decided on a nude bodysuit with a nude and white flannel and some white men's uggs. She thought the nude would be cute since it was Thanksgiving.
After spraying some perfume Ariana grabbed her nude leather Marc Jacobs tote bag and headed out of the door. Even though Amari gave her five minutes to come out of the house, it had taken her fifteen. But, he hadn't left like he said he would.
"Hey." Ariana spoke, getting into the car.
"Hey!" Kenzie spoke from the backseat.
"You look pretty." Ariana complimented Kenzie. She had on a sweater dress with some thick stockings and some Uggs.
"Thank you, you too."
"Thank you."
Ariana looked over at Amari. "You look alright." Ariana smirked.
"You mean sexy."
"No, I meant what I said."
"You know you meant sexy, I got the fresh cut too. Come on now." Amari licked over his lips, making a light skin face.
"Please do not make that face again." Ariana and Amari laughed.
"So does your family know I'm coming?" Ariana questioned, changing the subject.
"Yeah."
"Oh." Ariana trailed off.
"Why you want to know?" Amari chuckled.
"I'm nervous."
"Why?" Amari frowned.
"Because, what if they don't like me?"
"Don't worry, they're going to love you."
"Okay." Ariana mumbled.
When they arrived to Amari's aunt's house they all got out and headed inside. The house was full of people. She hadn't met anyone yet, but she could already tell they had two completely different families. Her family was more calm cool and collected, his family was loud and chaotic.
"Who this is nephew?" Amari's uncle Marvin questioned. He was the drunk uncle of the family.
"This is my girlfriend Ariana, Ariana this is my uncle Marvin." Ariana stuck her hand out to shake his, but he pulled her in for a hug.
