Chapter 11

Omniscient

Amari knocked on Raven's parent's door angrily. He was here to pick up Kenzie since Raven had gotten arrested for an assault charge. She had gotten in a fight with someone in the club last night. Raven was a sweet girl, but she had a bad temper. Her drinking last night contributed to it.

"Good morning." Raven's father answered the door.

"Morning." Amari mumbled.

"Would you like to come in?"

"Nah, I'll just wait out here."

"Alright, I'll be back with Kenzie."

Amari waited a few minutes outside until Raven's father brought a sleeping Kenzie outside.

"Here is her suitcase." Amari grabbed the suitcase from him. She was staying with him for a week since Raven's parents were going to be out of town for the next few days.

"Thank you, have a nice day."

"You too." Amari carried a sleeping Kenzie to the car.

When they reached the car he placed her and her suitcase in before hopping in the front seat. Before pulling off, he dialed his mother's number. He had to go to work today and he needed her to keep Kenzie.

"Hello." Amari's mother answered.

"Hey ma."

"Hey baby, how you doing?"

"Not so good, Raven's ass than got arrested." Amari's mother gasped.

"For what?"

"Assaulting somebody at the club."

"What the hell, where's Kenzie?"

"I just picked her up, she's staying with me for the week."

"Oh, that's good."

"Yeah, I need a favor."

"What?" His mother questioned.

"Can you keep Kenzie while I go to work today?"

"What time do you have to go?"

"12."

"I can't, I have to take mama to her doctor's appointment and it can only be one person to go with her." Amari sighed.

"Alright."

"Can you see if you can go in later?"

"Nah. I'll figure something out, I'll call you back later."

"Alright."

Right after Amari hung the phone up from his mother he got an incoming call from Ariana.

"Hello."

"Good morning." Ariana spoke into the phone.

"Morning."

"What's wrong with you?" Ariana could hear the irritation in his voice.

"Nothing."

"It's not nothing, what's wrong?" Ariana questioned.

"It's just a lot going on." Amari sighed.

"Are you going to beat around the bush or are you going to tell me?" Ariana questioned.

"Kenzie's mother is in jail, I got to go to work and don't have nobody to keep her."

"Oh, wow." Ariana didn't know what to say. "What time do you have to be at work?"

"12."

"I can keep her. I mean, if that's fine with you."
