The rumbling noises of metal reached their ears. The stomps of the Cold-blooded were mixed with the desperate screams and cries of the people surrounding her. Casey's feet kept moving, but her thoughts and mind were still processing the sight of panic and fear.
"Stop," her dried mouth managed to let out a weak plead.
"Stop!" Casey managed to scream amid the chaos. Dyron turned to look at her, his chest rapidly moving in and out.
"They're looking for me. I-I need to lead them away from here before they destroy the shield," Casey stated.
Dyron started scanning his surroundings, his furrowed eyebrows made Casey realize he was planning something. After a few seconds of stillness, a loud explosion behind them made them run again.
After a few strides he let her hand go to quickly run towards a nearby tree. His fast movements impressed Casey and the thought of him having secrets appeared again.
A few minutes had gone by when he jumped back down, landing perfectly upright, "There's two of them outside the perimeter."
"We need to get to the meeting point," he grabbed Casey's hand with strength, desperate to keep her near him at all times.
As soon as they got to the shack deep in the woods their stares met the others. "Good you're here," Evan stated.
"They must be looking for me. I need to distract them away from here," Casey added desperately.
"It doesn't matter if they're here for you by now. If they destroy this antenna they'll still beat the shit out of us," Evan pointed towards the device that had kept them safe all those years.
"I'm the only opportunity there's right now, so listen, I must get the Cold-blooded and the Saints' attention. I know I'm their main target, so they have to come after me," Casey stopped for a second to think about a plan.
"They know we're here, but they can't see us yet. How's that possible?" Aundrea added. A deep quiteness filled the space.
"Shit," Flint's curse made everyone look his way. He was sitting on a chair, resting his still healing leg.
"For days I've been feeling a lump under my right ear," he lifted his hand to touch the spot, "I never had it before they tortured me."
Alec acted quickly, slapped Flint's hand out of his way and soon his pocket knife was opening his skin.
"What the f-," Flint tried getting away from him, but his weak body was overpowered by Alec's stronger one.
"Got it," Alec stretched out his bloodied fingers to show a tiny rectangular device. Evan quickly grabbed it and stomped on it, leaving it shattered on the ground.
"You, lead them away from here," he pointed at Shira, "The rest of you take the guns and ammunitions and protect her at all costs. She will be the bait," Evan's eyes bore deeply into Caseys.
Evan quickly elaborted a plan. He let Shira go, but he had to stay with the rest of the resistence to ensure their survival and important information about Prosperity.
"You need to take Talev with you. He may have answers and you must do everything to get him talking," Evan pointed towards the limp body behind him. Talev's eyes were covered with a metal device that surrounded his skull tightly, a piece of cloth secured his mouth to prevent him from talking and chains locked his hands and feet.
"Go. I'll see you in a nearby future," Evan shook Shira's hand and then ran out the cabin.
Shira immediately shouted instructions. Alec and Aundrea took Talev's body. Shira helped Flint and lead the way while Casey and Dyron covered their backs.
