Lilystar's Demise

Chapter 10

It's been 4 moons since Hazelbreeze had her kits and 6 since Beepaw became an apprentice. Lilystream was going over Beepaw's battle moves. "Let's head back to camp I'm sure your littermates are waiting to become a warrior." Beepaw nodded and followed her back to camp. Thornpaw, Shadowpaw, and Whitepaw were waiting for Beepaw. "All cats strong enough to swim the rivers currents gather beneath the high rock for a clan meeting!" Longstar flicked his tails proud of the apprentice's. "Today Riverclan will be welcoming four apprentice's as warriors!" Longstar licked a paw as he started talking again. "Thornpaw! From this fourth you shall be known as Thornpelt!" Longstar glanced at Beepaw, "Beepaw! From this day fourth you shall be known as Beefur!" Honeydew was waiting for Shadowpaw's warrior name, "Whitepaw! From this day fourth you shall be known as Whiteclaw!" Honeydew was excited for Shadowpaw's warrior name, "Shadowpaw! From this day fourth you shall be known as Shadowfall!" Honeydew's fur prickled, "What a pretty name" Honeydew was jealous because she wanted her warrior name to be Honeyfall but she was still happy with Honeydew.

Lilystream and Hazelbreeze were enjoying some time out when the scent of Thunderclan hit the back of Lilystream's throat. "I will chase them toward Thunderpath were they belong!" Hazelbreeze hissed as she darted off. Lilystream darted after her and nipped at her tail to stop but Hazelbreeze skidded to a stop right in Thunderpath. "Hazelbreeze!" Hazelbreeze turned around. "What!?" Hazelbreeze hissed before pinning her ears back. "Sorry i was hoping they'd skid to a stop in Thunderpath" Lilystream saw he Monster coming but Hazelbreeze was thinking about it and didn't hear it coming. "Hazelbreeze! watch out!" Hazelbreeze stood up and saw the monster. before she could run the monster hit her. Lilystream's eyes filled with tears as Hazelbreeze's dead body lay there limp. "Come on Hazelbreeze let's go back to camp you can be healed there!" Lilystream said pulling Hazelbreeze off of Thunderpath. "Please stand up you'll be fine i can take you to Gooseleaf!" Longstar's meow startled Lilystream, "Help Longstar! Hazelbreeze got hit by a Monster and she won't get up!" Longstar got closer, "I'm afraid she won't be getting up ever again as a Riverclan cat" Longstar flicked his tail as he grabbed Hazelbreeze's limp body and carried it back to camp. Lilystream had to tell Hazelbreeze's kits. "Icekit, Lavenderkit come here" They looked up and ran to her. "Where is Hazelbreeze?" Lavenderkit asked, Lilystream nudged them out of the nursery and wrapped her tail around them. "I'm sorry you two but Hazelbreeze is in Starclan now..." Lavenderkit's ears pinned back and Icekit's tail drooped. "I'm sorry..." Lavenderkit looked up at her. "Will you mother us until we become apprentice's when Gooseleaf or Foxpelt can take us to the moonstone?" Lilystream nodded.

Lilystream saw Oakbreeze at the river again. "What's wrong?" Oakbreeze was wondering why Lilystream seemed so upset, "My sister, Hazelbreeze, got hit by a Monster" Oakbreeze felt bad for Lilystream.
