I follow Amelia outside and she's looking at the view. She said,"You ever wondered how the Gods could manage to make such marvelous yet simple shapes? Look at our Sun for example. It is literally just a circle." I then look outwards and reply with, "Not really, I never thought about it to be honest."
She looked at me and said ". Bit of a random question, but are you a Godlender?" I get confused as to why she asks me this all of sudden, but I reply with "Nope, though I do wish I had some sort of power. It's cool that Godlenders can have such extraordinary strength! Especially, since we're just humans!" She looks at me with this surprised look on her face. I ask "What's wrong?" She said "No, it's just that you are insanely lucky." I raise an eyebrow and ask her "What do you mean "I'm insanely lucky"?"
She then said, "When you first came here. You had an injury no normal human could possibly get out of alive. I don't even think a Godlender could survive such a thing...maybe. You're whole chest was blown out and your eyes were engulfed with blood. You had third degree burns all over your body, and Not only that, but you were also missing an arm,but after a day you were just here all fine. Except the missing arm..of course."
I look down and and let out a sigh. "Amelia, I don't really know how I got here. All I know is that I'm alive and that you've been the one taking care of me. If there's anything I remember it's how my mother died, and that's about it." I look back up and She's quiet. She walks up to me and hugs me. "I'm sorry Pluto." I then reply, "Don't worry about it. Anyways, can you tell me how Godlender powers even work?" She lets go of me and starts explaining what Godlenders are.
"Well, it all started a few million years ago. The Gods realized that they can't really protect earth and everything else all on their own,so they decided to have us help them whenever something would disrupt the peace around here. So they picked the lucky few on this planet and called them Godlenders. We essentially have direct powers from the Gods themselves except it's not to their fullest extent. You see, we can only manage to use around 25% if not less than what their actual power is. I've heard stories about one person being able to use Zeus' full power, but that only happens when The Gods let you use all of it,but the only drawback to that is Death. It makes sense since we're only human and we're not meant to hold onto that much power."
I'm astounded! I never knew humans could use the power of the Gods! I then come to a realization and I ask her, "Wait a minute, you said "We". Amelia, are you a Godlender?" She then smiles and says, "Yes, I am one of the lucky few. I am the Godlender of Persephone the Goddess of spring growth."
I said, "I'm sorry? I need you to repeat that again. I think my ears aren't functioning as they should right now." then she chuckled and told me, "Well, it's exactly as I said. I'm the Godlender of Persephone." Everything went quiet..we're staring at each other. I'm speechless, I'm shocked, and I'm having an existential crisis. Alright, maybe not that dramatic, but still. My friend is a Godlender..I just have to know! So I ask her, "So what exactly can you do? I mean, I know she's the Goddess of spring growth so how can that help in battle?" She then put her hand on my my missing arm,and then all of a sudden. Green leaves, and branches started to take the form of an arm. I'm witnessing my missing limb grow back..it's like a miracle. "Now, this is not a new arm, it's more like a replacement! Think of it as a prosthetic arm. Though, it's made out of leaves and branches..it's an arm nontheless!" She nervously exclaimed. I then hold her hand and stare at it. I feel a sensation, though I can't really explain it. It's as if I've felt this before.
I let go of her hand and ask her, "So you can heal wounds?" She then replied with, "Well yes I can, but I didn't heal your arm at all. You see, I merely replaced it. I did however, try to heal your wounds from when you first got here, but they were so severe that Persephone's power didn't work. Anyways, that's also why I was surprised after a few days;since your body had gone back to normal."
Wow, I guess the Gods blessed me and kept me from dying. Everything goes quiet again, but this time I feel a sense of familiarity. Amelia looks at me and says, "Oh husband, how I yearn for you my darling. Please, come back to me. I'm all alone and the screams of the damned aren't enough to get rid of this void inside of my heart." Amelia then gently grabs my face and tells me, "Close your eyes." Oddly enough, I do as she says. I close my eyes and our lips touch. I then come back to my senses and grab Amelia by her shoulders and ask her, "Whoa whoa whoa! What's going on?! That was out of nowhere!"
After that Amelia collapses and I immediately take her to her room. "I'll be right back" I said. I sprint downstairs to grab a wet towel and head back upstairs, and as I'm nearing her room I get this big headache. I feel dizzy and my body feels like it's about to shut down, but I can't right now. I then hear a voice and my ears start to ring. An Old Man with hundreds of eyes appears before me and says, "You don't realize what you are, boy. Soon, everything you've ever loved will be taken away from you. The Prophecy is set in stone. For thy woe shall not be discerned nor heard." The Old Man disappears and everything goes back to normal. I don't know what that was,but right now I have to check up on Amelia. I rush to her room and she's already awake. She then looks at me and asks, "It happened didn't it? She took over?"
I then reply with, "What? What do you mean she took over?" Amelia sighs and she gets up from her bed. As she walks towards me I can feel that something's off about her. I ask her, "Hey, What just happened?" She looks at me and replied, "I forgot to mention that whenever they feel like it; the Gods can take over your body and speak for you. It seems Persephone took over my body and spoke to you. Though, I have no recollection of what happened. I just know she took over because everytime it happens I wake up randomly." So, Persephone herself spoke to me...,but my body feels like something is missing..like a part of me. Amelia looks at me confused and asks me, "Are you alright? You look pale." I looked at her and told her to sit down. I sat next to her and for the next few minutes I explained everything that happened. Amelia's face turns completely red like a tomato and yells, "WE KISSED?!" I then nodded my head confirming it.
