"Is it truly free will when your life has been written by the hands of the fates before your very existence came into fruition? There is only one way to answer that question, but only you can find it. So what will you do, sinner? Will you watch the world burn? Or will you step up and find a way to change your fate? The Gods will not heed to your prayers nor will they relinquish in eliminating your very being, but that isn't the case with me. I will answer your prayer for strength. May the temporary dreams and nightmares aid your needs to refresh your memories. Your story is very intriguing , and I can't wait to see how it plays out."

The plains of day and night collapsed into a void of darkness as Morpheus finished saying his monologue. The dreamworld now engulfed in darkness and silence stayed still for a brief moment until my perspective changed into the body of a little boy, and a small fire lit up in the distance, and the darkness slowly faded away and turned into a village in the middle of a barren wasteland. The stars and moon shun brightly in the dark night sky as the wind breezed gently across my face, and the smell of fresh toasted giant scorpion tail spread throughout the air. The villagers formed around a giant brazier, and danced as if they were performing a ritual. Wailing their arms in the air, jumping, spinning around, and yelling in grace. This would go on for a while until they settled down and ate their food.

I on the other hand, sit back by myself eating a scorpion tail. It isn't very pleasant to eat, but there really isn't that many options out here so I can't complain. As I munched down on the tail I get tapped on my shoulder. I look back, and it was Hermes holding three scorpion tails one on each hand, and one in his mouth. He reaches out one of his arms, and asked while he ate, "Y..o wa...t??" I looked at him with a confused expression, and replied, "I can't understand you." He looked at me with a serious expression and then proceeded to swallow the entire tail in one go. He burped, and then asked again, "You want one?" he put the scorpion tail in front of my face, and I took it, but instead of eating it I stared at it. Tears streamed down my face, and I start to hyperventilate. I'm crying so much that I can barely muster any words, but as I wept I held the scorpion tail, and barely say, "T-t..is be..on...s to m-mommy.."

Hermes put his hand on my head and says, "Death ain't easy, and it'll never be easy to deal with. This is why life is a special thing. You never know when it's gonna come in and catch you when you least expect it. It's just the way it is, really. So take your time to mourn, and try your best not to lose yourself while doing so." Hermes lets go of me, and moves in front of me. He looks back as the villagers dance around the fire, and says, "They dance for us gods thinking we're the one who have blessed them, but that's not the case at all. My father didn't bring them food nor did any other god." Thunder roared in the distance as he said that. Hermes looked up to the sky as droplets of rain fell down.

"He's coming for me.", he says in a serious tone. He looks back at me and gets down on one knee. Hermes stares at me for a good few seconds, and says, "Pluto, I have to get going and make sure that my father doesn't get to you. He doesn't know of your existence just yet, but he will eventually. So I need you to promise me one thing." My tears slow down, and my breathing gets lighter. I look at him, and reply, "W-what promise?" He pats my head while trying his best to smile, and says, "Promise me you'll live your life to the fullest, and that no matter what happens. You won't lose yourself." As he said those words, I had a flashback to what my mother said.

"No son, this isn't goodbye. You'll see me again someday. After you've lived your life, after you've made family, friends, and memories. You will see me again on the other side, ok?"

Hermes plucked out of one his feathers from his armor, and put it in my hair. He gently says, "Have this as a reminder that we'll meet again someday, and until that time comes, you will keep moving forward, and you will live your life to the fullest. At least, that's what I can hope for." He gets up, and looks up at the sky. He sighs, and then disappears in the blink of an eye without making a sound. The droplets of rain stream down my face as I sat on the sand floor in silence. My eyes are dried up, and my nose is numb. I feel like crying, but I can barely shed anymore tears.
