It'd been about a day since my conflict with Loki's familia had occurred. By this point according to Sophia rumors about me were already starting to float around. Apparently, they were mostly just asking about where I was or if I was seen anywhere. That kind of thing.

Luckily it seemed no one but Sophia noticed me flying overhead when I ran. So it would seem that everything was going to blow over without me getting caught.

Which was... good. Although I'm not too happy that I have to act like some sort of criminal in hiding when I didn't do anything wrong in the first place.

But it is what it is I guess. I'll just have to find some way to prove my innocence.

Sophia was monitoring the Loki familia for me. We decided we'd wait for them to leave

And so here I waited. With nothing to do while the storm blew over.

"..."

Nothing to do.

"Hmmmm." I could only lay here thinking.

To be honest it somewhat irked me to be sitting around doing nothing. But there was nothing else I could do.

So I decided to go into a temporary sleep-like mode. I remember back when at the Tempest whenever night rolled around and there was nothing to do I'd thin my awareness and my magic sense so it was almost as if I were asleep. So with nothing else to do I rested for a bit.

...

"...he...lp"

"Pl...eas"

It was dark. I was surrounded by a dark endless space. It felt murky and everything was blurry.

Where...?

"GGRRRRRRAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" a sudden blood-curdling scream instantly focused my attention.

Everything still felt murky and blurry but my thoughts were now focused.

Where am I?!

I could hear multiple screams before me.

They sounded... familiar. I tried to use magic sense to see my surroundings but failed.

Hmm...? I began to walk toward the screams.

"!" before coming to a stop.

"Is this?" I reach my hand out to confirm my suspicions.

"Looks like I can't go past this point..." I guess as I feel my hand hit a sudden invisible wall. I run my hand across this wall and walk along the length of it to see if I could somehow get passed it, before suddenly.

"Ri...muru." I hear a faint voice call my name.

"Huh?"

"Rimuru." I hear again. Louder this time. It sounded familiar. And it was coming from... the other side of the wall.

"GRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Another blood-curdling scream resounded.

I felt a chill run down my spine and a sudden hole in my stomach.

"Oh," I whispered as the reason they sounded familiar came to me.

I remembered‒

* ********** *** ****** ** ** ******* *** ** ********* ** **** ****.

"Rimuru!"

I slightly jumped. "Huh?!"

Sophia was standing before me.

"You're finally awake."

"...yeah," I respond still in slight shock.

"Good. The situation outside is..." she began to trail off.
