Eliza was happy to say that the movie was a success. She was also happy to say that a blue sparkly dress fit well and didn’t show her five month baby bump, as they were going to an awards show and there would be lots of pictures.
Currently, she was pacing around her room while Alexander listened to her ramble. “Please make sure my bump is hidden at all times. I know the world already knows but I feel disgusting and I just look bloated. Pip is with his nana all night, right? Do we have to drop him off or is my mom coming to pick him up???” Alexander laughed and hugged her. “You look amazing, Catherine is coming to get him and we have to go now. Do you have everything?” He asked her. She groaned and checked her purse. “Phone, make up, charger, keys. Yep. That’s everything.” She concluded.
Eliza tapped her feet on the floor of the limo as they were driving to the awards show. “Nervous?”, Alexander whispered, holding her hand. “Yeah. What if I make a complete fool of myself? What if I get mad and slap somebody?” Alexander chuckled a bit. “I’m pretty sure that won’t happen.” He kissed her cheek, and felt her stomach with his free hand. “Hi, Baby.” The baby kicked as a response. “Your destination, Mr. Hamilton?” Eliza took deep breaths as she saw the awards show building, with a red carpet in the front.
“It’s showtime.” Alexander whispered and got out of the limo before helping Eliza out too. She held his hand tight as they walked down the red carpet together, stopping where they were told so they could get their pictures taken.
Once they were inside the building, drinks were offered but both of them declined since Eliza made Alexander promise not to drink. He didn’t mind. Alcohol made him nervous and he didn’t need to be more nervous than he already was.
Alexander held Eliza close as they were greeted by many celebrities, who she was too shy to talk to. They sat down at a little table in a big room with a stage up front, holding each other’s hands as everyone was piling in. “I’m sorry that I’m so nervous!”, she told Alexander. “No, it’s okay. I was nervous at my first awards ceremony too.” Alexander kissed her knuckles. “Flirt”, she taunted in a singsong voice.
“I will flirt with you as long as I have you. You deserve the world.” He said and kissed her cheek. She blushed as the lights went down and the presenters began speaking. Dozens of awards were given out for all sorts of things. Best costumes, best scripts, best actors and actresses. The couple wished they were nominated for that one but they were new so it was fine that they weren’t.
“Best performance goes too…” the announcer read the card. “…Elizabeth Schuyler.” Alexander had a proud look in his eyes as Eliza had a surprised look on her face as people clapped. She walked up to the stage. “What would you like to say, Elizabeth?”
“I just… I can’t believe it! This is so crazy!” She rubbed the tears of joy from her eyes. “But I would like to thank my boyfriend, I couldn’t have done it without him.” She was about to get off the stage, when she saw Alexander go up the stairs, walking towards her.
“What are you doing?” Eliza asked him quietly, away from the mic. Alexander grabbed the mic and something from his pocket then dropped down onto one knee. “I promise I got permission to do this.” he said to the crowd before turning back to a teary-eyed Eliza.
“Ever since we started working on our movie together, I knew you were so much more than what I expected. You are like the sun. You make people's day brighter, bringing a smile to everyone you meet. And you’re hot as heck but that's a private matter. Anyway, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
“Yes!” He slipped the diamond engagement ring onto her ring finger, and right after he got up she hugged him, kissing his neck with tears in her eyes as people applauded. “Oh my god, Alexander.” He kissed her passionately and they walked off the stage, Eliza having happy tears in her eyes.
Everyone in the crowd cheered for them and they were escorted back to their seats while the rest of the awards were presented. "This is amazing… how did you manage to pull this off?" She asked and kissed his cheek gently. He just kissed her, not responding because honestly, he had no idea how he did it either.ther.
“I’m so proud of you that you got an award! C’mere.” He motioned her to sit on his lap. “You’re sure I’m not too heavy?”, she muttered. “Oh stop”, he said, opening his arms. She sighed and sat on his lap as he cuddled her close. “I’m very proud of you, Eliza”, he whispered. “Wait, are you crying?” Eliza nodded. “Yeah I’m just so happy!”, she said, crying tears of joy into his shoulder.
The award ceremony finished and they decided to try the after party. They both knew there would be a bunch of alcoholic beverages so it would be difficult to avoid. "We can leave whenever you want." Alexander held her waist as they walked to the hotel across the street.
“This room is nice.” She looked at Alexander. “Are you spoiling me again?” He chuckled. “Yes.” She sighed and kissed his neck, as he embraced her. He picked her up and laid her down on the bed, and they kissed each other as Eliza wrapped her legs around his waist.
"I love you so much." She kissed him gently but tried to stop him from advancing things further. He didn't do anything she didn't want to but they did stay in their hotel room all night long. She cuddled on his chest, letting his hand rub her bump gently.
The next morning, they woke up, cuddling close in the bed. “Alexander… you won’t believe the dream I just had!”
“Oh? What was it about?”
“I won an awards ceremony and you proposed to me.” Alexander chuckled. “That actually happened, dear.” Eliza remembered. “Oh!” She kissed him deeply but gently. “Did you forget?”
“No, it was just so amazing that it felt like a dream!” She yawned and saw him blushing.
"Ready to go home?" Alexander asked her quietly and helped her out of the bed. She nodded and kept her dress on. She went to the washroom to fix her makeup since she had fallen asleep before she got the chance to take it off. "We should stop at home before picking up Pip. I don't want my parents to see me like this." She sighed and grabbed her things.
At home, she changed into some casual clothing before they drove to pick up Pip. They pulled into her parents’ driveway, and shut the car door, before walking in.
“Mommy!”, Pip said, getting off his grandmas lap. “Daddy!” He ran over to both of them. “What’s that sparkly thing on your hand?”, he asked, referring to the diamond engagement ring.
"This is a ring. Daddy gave it to me because he wants to marry me." She explained and hugged Pip tight, missing him a lot after not seeing him for over 16 hours. "Oh! I have to give Georges a ring! Can I borrow yours?" He asked. Eliza shook her head. "Sorry, Pippy. I can't take this off. How about a ring pop instead?"
“Yes! Georges loves cherry ring pops!”, Pip said. He looked over at Alexander. “You’re going to be my new daddy?” Alexander nodded. “Yes, Pip. Are you okay with that?” Pip nodded excitedly. “Yes, I am! The ring is so pretty!” They waved goodbye to Eliza’s parents before driving home.
