“Philip?”, the doctor called in the pediatrician's waiting room. Eliza looked up, and held Pip’s hand. Alexander was doing an interview for a radio station, so he couldn’t be at the doctor’s appointment for Pip, but he could be at the ultrasound appointment.

"Mommy, I don't wanna go in…" Pip whined and clung to her leg. Eliza rubbed his back. "It will be ok. The doctor is really nice. Plus, if you're good, daddy and I will get you ice cream." She said and picked him up. "Lets go in, now."

“Nooo!”, Pip whined, stomping his foot on the ground, making her recieve a few dirty looks for a loud toddler. “okayy… I guess no McDonald’s Ice cream then-“
“Nevermind!” They checked his height and weight, and then walked into the room.

"Hey, Philip! How are ya?" The doctor asked as Eliza helped him onto the examination table. "Pip. Not Philip." Pip corrected and still held on tight to his moms hand. "Sorry Pip. How are you?" The doctor corrected and grabbed his stethoscope.
"I'm ok." Pip sighed and looked at the doctors tools curiously.

“He handled the surgery well. He still doesn’t want to talk about the event and I’ve been thinking about putting him in therapy..” The doctor wrote some stuff down on his check board paper as Pip played with the magnets on the desk.

"That might be best. It would help him since he's so young." The doctor said and gave her a list of suggested child therapists in the area. She thanked him and put it in her purse as the doctor began Pips examination.
He made sure the stitches were healing properly and that everything was working properly again.

“Ice cream!”, Pip smiled as Eliza gave him his cone from the back seat. “Aunt Peggy is babysitting you. Daddy and I will be back after the appointment, you’ll get to see a picture of your brother or sister!” Pip bounced in his seat and licked the cone.
After dropping Pip off at Peggy’s house, Eliza drove to the doctors, where Alexander was waiting outside. “Heyy!”, she ran over to him. “How was the interview?”
“It was good. How was Pip's appointment?”
“It was good. Now let’s go in and see the baby… that we made.” She grabbed Alexander’s butt and he chuckled. “There’s a child present!” Eliza smirked and kissed his cheek before they went inside.

"Ms. Schuyler?" The receptionist called and led them into the doctors office. She laid on the bed and Alex sat beside her, holding her hand the whole time. The doctor introduced herself to Alexander since she obviously knew Eliza from her last pregnancy.
A few minutes later, their baby was on the screen and their heartbeat filled the room. Eliza was sobbing happily and Alexander kept his tears back.

They printed the photo, “she’s beautiful”, Alexander gushed. Eliza looked at him, confused, “she?”, a smirk formed on her face. “You heard me.” Alexander smiled and kissed Eliza. “I’m so happy”, Eliza smiled and kissed Alexander’s nose. Alexander bent down and felt her small bump.
The doctor checked to make sure everything was okay, and then they left to pick up Pip.

"Are you sure it's a girl? Did the doctor say that?" Eliza asked when they were 10 minutes away from Peggy's. "No. I just know. I can't wait to have a gender reveal for you though." Alexander smirked and kissed her hand as he drove.
Eliza knocked on Peggy's door. It opened seconds later and Pip was crying. She rushed in and scooped him up, attempting to calm him down.
"What happened???"

“I have no idea! He wouldn’t stop crying after he got home from the doctor!” Pip was screaming and crying, gripping Eliza’s shirt. “Pip, what happened?”, Alexander asked, reaching for him. Pip punched his arm. “Pip…”, Eliza said sternly, but calmly. “What happened?”

Pip looked up, with tears in his eyes. “Mommy, daddy? What’s a-“ he then said a word that he really shouldn’t say. Eliza and Alexander looked at each other in shock.

"Never. Ever say that." Eliza said very strictly. "Who told you that word?" She asked more gently. "The mean boys at school… they called me that…" he whispered and sniffled.
"I'll talk to your teacher about it. That's never appropriate. Even grown ups can't say that." She explained.

“Why? What does it mean?” Alexander remembered the first time he was called that word, in middle school. “I’ll explain to you when you’re a bit older, okay bud?”, he whispered. Pip nodded and opened his arms, wanting a hug. Alexander hugged him, holding him in his arms as Eliza rested her head on his shoulder. “Why are those boys so mean? Why do they always tease me about the fact that I love Georges? Why did they call me that when we hugged each other on the playground?”

"They are small minded people who are being raised by closed minded people." Eliza said quietly and kissed Pip's head. "But you won't have to worry about them anymore." She added.
Peggy looked at the family of 3 and clapped. "Great performance. Encore next week but y'all gotta go. I have a date."
Eliza's head snapped up and she squealed. "What kind of date???" She raced over to her sister. "A one night stand. Now shoo." She said and pushed them out the door.

Georges and Pip had a playdate, like Eliza promised they would. “You fixed the dolls! Thank you Miss Sky!”, said Georges, who couldn’t pronounce “Schuyler” yet. “It’s a pleasure to meet you”, Laf said to Alexander. Alexander smiled and shook his hand, as Georges and Pip made the Barbies kiss.

"Georges seems like a very smart boy. You must be very proud." Eliza said to Adrienne. Adrienne smiled and nodded. "He is very intelligent for his age. Even as a baby he amazed us. I bet you feel the same with your boy?" She said, making Eliza smile too. "Pip is such a miracle… I'm so lucky to have him."

“Hey Pip!”, Georges said. “Yeah?”, Pip held the Barbie in his hand. “Je t'aime!”  Pip looked confused. “What does it mean?” Laf and Adrienne both smiled, already knowing what it means. “It means ‘I love you’.”

All the parents "aww'd" as the two boys hugged each other. "Jaw tame!" Pip tried to say back, making Georges laugh. "No. It's 'je t'aime'" he corrected and sat on the floor with the dolls again. "Oh- je t'aime!" Pip said and smiled and when Alex clapped obnoxiously loud, earning a weird look from Eliza.

“Bye-bye!”, Pip waved goodbye, as they shut the door. Alexander put Pip on his shoulders. “Hehe! Why so happy, daddy?” Eliza chuckled. “Because you did it!” Pip shrugged and hugged Alexander’s head.
