Chapter 32: Gender Reveal Party

Eliza woke up, in Alexander’s arms. She immediately noticed they were naked, and sighed, remembering last night. She admired him as he was asleep, and kissed his chest. “Good morning, baby.” She whispered. Alex smiled and looked at her, “morning. You’re in a good mood, I see.”

"My sisters are throwing a gender reveal party at my parents house today." She said, ecstatic. Alex laughed quietly and kissed her nose. "Well, I can't wait to confirm we're having a baby girl." He said. Eliza shook her head. "It's a boy. I know it." She rubbed her baby bump gently and sighed.

“Mhm.” He rolled his eyes playfully, and rubbed her bump. “I’m sorry if you couldn’t sleep last night, little one.” Eliza started laughing, and slapped his arm. He smirked. “Mommy! daddy! Why is the door locked?”

Eliza's eyes widened. She never locked Pip out and she didn't even realize Alexander had locked the door. She quickly got out of bed, got dressed, and unlocked the door, hugging Pip immediately. "I'm sorry baby- I didn't know it was locked." 

Alexander put his boxers that were still under the blanket on quickly. “I’m so sorry, bud.” He picked him up. “Why don’t you wait while mommy and I make some delicious pancakes?” Pip nodded, and walked to his room.
“I’m so sorry, Eliza. I truly am.” 

"No it's fine- I just like to leave it unlocked incase he has an accident or a nightmare or something…" she sighed and put on her robe over her wrinkled tshirt and jeans she had on the day before.

Alexander put on his wrinkled T-shirt and jeans and kissed Eliza’s cheek. “You were amazing last night..” he slapped her butt and grinned. “Hey! You get back here!” She laughed. Pip was playing with his barbies in his room.
“Hi, Pip.” Alexander kneeled down next to him. “Do you want a baby brother or a baby sister?” Pip thought for a moment, “brother.”

They heard a quiet "Yes!" From down the hall. Alexander laughed to himself a bit and picked up the toddler. "Your mommy wants you to have a brother too but I think it will be a sister." He said to him and carried him to the kitchen.

“I don’t care what gender we get… and I don’t care what gender our kid will identify as.” Alexander kissed her cheek. “Mhm.” He smiled. “Frances is out of the hospital.” Eliza looked at him, “really?” Alexander nodded. “John seems more like himself again… but he might still need some help.” Pip ran into the kitchen. “Daddy! Mommy! I lost a tooth!”

Eliza gasped. "What!? Where is it???" She started panicking, not sure if it was too early or not for him to lose his baby teeth. Philip handed her the bloody tooth and grinned. Alexander held her waist so she wouldn't faint at the sight of blood.

“Georges said the tooth fairy came and gave him some macarons and a cherry ring pop and money!” Pip squealed in excitement. Alexander took the tooth from Eliza’s hand. “That’s great, bud! Go put it on your nightstand!” Pip took the tooth and ran out of the kitchen. “He’s growing up so fast”, Eliza whispered.

He wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her waist gently. "You know, he still has like 20 teeth to lose. It'll be ok." He said and kissed her cheek. Eliza nodded and hid her face in his chest. He could tell she was crying by the way his shirt now had 2 wet circles where her head was.

“I’m sorry..” she wiped her tears. “It’s alright, baby.” He kissed her stomach. “Man, I can't wait till the baby is born.” He felt her bump. “Me neither.” She ruffled his hair. “I can’t wait to see Diana again at the party!” She poured the syrup on the pancakes.

Philip came back and sat at the table. "Is Diana the nice one?" He asked and dumped a lot of syrup on his pancakes. Alex was quick to stop him and clean up. Eliza giggled and nodded. "Yes, Diana is the very nice one who did mommies make up!" She said and kissed Pips head, pulling his curls away from the plate of syrup so she wouldn't have to bathe him again.
