Considering we'd missed half the party, it was a blast. Caesar had announced it was time to eat just as the last plate of food had been set down on the dining table. He'd tried to insist I go first again, but again I'd pointed out that it was his birthday and as the leader, he gets the first bite. It was a small party, so there weren't too many guests, just Caesar's parents and his friends. I knew most of them from the mating celebrations but there were a few I hadn't been acquainted with yet.

Caesar rustled up a salad bowl (a very large plate with rounded edges) and pilled it high with food, a second one on the sofa arm just for dessert. He'd commandeered half of a sofa, the arm that wasn't stuffing his face was thrown over my shoulders and holding me against him. He chatted animatedly between mouthfuls to anyone that would listen and I mostly sleepily nibbled from a plate on my lap and listened.

A very late comer showed up with a crate of beer under his arm and a familiar charming smile. Hair although black was greying at the temples and light brown eyes only a tad darker than Caesar's crinkled in the corners as he spoke. "I see the birthday boy's enjoying himself." the man winked and set the crate down vertically, sitting down on it and trying to swipe a brownie from the pyramid of cubes on Caesar's dessert plate, amongst less extortionate amounts of the other sweet treats on offer at the buffet.

Caesar growled and batted the older man's hand away, making the latter chuckle. "Still the glutton I see."

"Still always royally late uncle Raymond." Caesar short back and practically inhaled the brownie his uncle had almost stollen from his plate, letting out an exaggerated groan and stuffing his face with more.

I chuckled softly, definitely pleased to see he liked my brownies and enjoying witnessing his more childlike personality rearing its head. The way he was smiling, and the sparkle in his eyes... seeing him so happy made me happy, he was a glutton, I'll admit that, but I'll gladly feed such a habit.

Caesar did look quite like his uncle, from the eyes and hair, although the latter's was longer and brushed back, the hairs might be greying at the temples but certainly wasn't noticeably receding yet. Aside from the grey hairs and a few extra laugh lines on his face he looked notably young. His lips were a lot thinner than Caesar's and not as pink but their faces were structurally similar and although he had a slighter frame there was no way you couldn't see they were related.

"Raymond, I'd thought you'd never show up." Grace chided with crossed arms and Raymond gave her an apologetic smile.

"Sorry sis, you know me, busy, busy, busy." he apologised with a grin, not seeming sorry at all.

Grace huffed. "It's been over a month Ray, I understand Caesar's mating ceremony was very short notice but you've had loads of time between then and now to visit, and even when you do show your late."

Raymond seemed to notice me for the first time and I almost laughed aloud seeing how his eyes bugged out of his head at the sight of me. I found myself purring softly and I nuzzled my face into Caesar's neck, not quite shyness coming over me, but something.

I felt Caesar press a kiss to my crown and squeeze my shoulders a little, my tired and overly fucked body yearned for his warmth and touch, my wolf feeling very needy at the moment, my demon comatose, sleeping off all the sex.
