'...Look at them, just leave them be for now...' Voices permeated my sleeping brain and I stirred, who was that?

'...The feast is almost ready Tobin...'

'...But they look so happy and peaceful, and you know Caesar hates being woken up...' It sounded like Shane and Tobin were bickering to one another.

'Too late.' Caesar grumbled against my chest. 'Keep it down, you'll wake Dix up and he needs to rest.' he warned in a low growl and their voices quietened down. I was already awake but they hadn't noticed yet.

'Tired him out did you?' Shane snickered and I heard a muffled thump, maybe Tobin hit him to tell him to shut up. 'Ow, what was that for?' he whined.

'Shut up.' Tobin's voice hissed.

"Yeah, shut up Shane." I agreed and opened my eyes, finding the both of them a few steps into the room.

Caesar growled angrily at them and they jumped and scampered out of the room like their asses were on fire. He sighed once they'd gone and nuzzled my chest. "I'm sorry they woke you darlin'." he apologized.

"I'm a light sleeper." I told him and my fingers started trailing over his back again and I pressed a kiss to his forehead. "So I take it you're not a morning person?"

He chuckled softly. "How did you guess?"

I smiled and looked up at the stone ceiling. "So, what happens during this 'feast'?"

"We eat until we can't anymore. It's the easy part of the mating tradition, everyone dresses up a bit and we eat and drink to our hearts content, we celebrate and socialize, it's like the meal after a human wedding I think." he explained to me.

"Is there dancing and music?" I wondered. I hoped there wasn't a first dance or something, I kind of had two left feet when it came to dancing, I had rhythm but the only dance I could do was definitely not appropriate around children, it was more what you'd do in a club, I'd seduced many a guy by grating my hips to the music against their ass. No more though, I was a taken man, and happy about it.

"Hmm, theres music yes, some of us like to dance but you don't have to." he assured.

"How did you know I don't like dancing?" I grumbled, he was right but it was a bit presumptuous.

"Max told me, said you couldn't dance to save your life." he mused with a small laugh and I huffed.

"I can dance." I defended, my pride feeling a little attacked.

"The macarena doesn't count." I opened my mouth to retort but thought better, I knew I wouldn't win this conversation, not with Caesar's quick mind and wit.

"I can dance a little." I mumbled grumpily.

He lifted himself up on his elbows and looked up at me, a soft smile on his lips. "I'm not much of a dancer either darlin', don't worry." he placated and pressed a tender kiss against my lips. "But we need to go and get ready." he climbed off of me and the bed, standing there starkers.

"With what clothes?" I asked, I hadn't seen a wardrobe or anything in here. I got down from the bed and besides from a dull ache my back seemed fine, thank god for that.

"Follow me." was all he said and shifted into his oversized tarnished gold and black wolf, turning and heading towards the door to the cave tunnels, stopping just before it and sitting down facing me, waiting patiently.

How in the hell do I shift?

I took a few breaths and closed my eyes, thinking back to when I'd shifted for the first time, man I hoped it wasn't that painful. I imagined my wolves red, brown and black fur, the feeling of being in my wolf body. It took a few moments but soon I felt my bones shifting and cracking, my skin itching as it spirted fur. It wasn't as painful, nothing close, but it was like a really intense stretch, both pleasant and a little uncomfortable. I had a good shake when I was finished shifting and stretched, getting a feel for my wolf form. I felt much more stable on four paws and all the smells around me were pretty overwhelming at first, the world a little more dull in colour.
