Betty and I hung over the shoulder of Ned as he researched the water monster that tore down the waters of Venice.
"It's aliens. It has to be." He says.
"BuzzFeed says there's a sailor named Morris Bench who was exposed to an experimental underwater generator and got hydro powers." Flash states, obviously geeking out over this.
"Yeah, you should definitely believe everything you read on the Internet." I say.
"Spider-Man could take him."
I glance at Peter, who is on the phone with May. MJ sits next to Brad who is behind me.
"What do you think it is?" Mr. Harrington asks.
"Being a man of science, witches." Mr. Dell responds.
My phone vibrates to see Pepper's call. I walk over to the staircase and answer her call.
"Hey honey, is everything okay over there? I just turned on the news and-"
"Yeah, Pep, everything is great. Pete and I actually kinda helped that mystery man defeat the water dude. It was crazy."
"Please tell me nobody saw your face."
I chuckle.
"How's Morgan?"
"She's napping right now but she wanted me to tell you that she misses and loves you 3,000."
I smile.
"Tell her that too."
"Will do Purple People Eater. I need to go, work is calling me. Love you, have fun."
"I will, love you Pepper."
I hang up the phone as Peter approaches next to me.
"Who is that guy?" Brad asks. "He's like Iron Man and Thor rolled into one."
I shoot him a glare.
"He's all right. He's no Spider-Man." Flash states.
"What is it with you and Spider-Man?" MJ asks.
"What? He's just awesome, okay? He protects the neighborhood and he's inspiring. He inspires me to be a better man." Flash says and spots Peter "What's up, dickwad? Thought you drowned."
The reporter on the news speaks in Italian, so none of us could really understand her.
"Sounds like his name's Mysterio." Brad says, distracting from the conversation.
"L'uomo del misterio is Italian for 'man of mystery.' They don't actually know who he is."
"Mysterio." I whisper.
"Cool name. Babe." Ned and Betty say in unison.
"So Paris tomorrow." Peter says to me. "Go to the Eiffel Tower. Should be great."
"Yeah um actually MJ was telling me that it was secretly built as a mind-control antenna to create an army of the insane and it's her favorite destination of the trip so your plan is totally working!" I say and nudge him.
"Alright everyone get to bed. We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow!" Mr. Harrington says and shoos us to our rooms.
I go to my room in an attempt to sleep but I just can't. I ended up going to Peter and Ned's room but stopped before opening the door since I heard Peter talking, presumably about MJ.
"I think she really likes me."
"That's nice. Reminds me of when Betty and I first fell in love. I had just finished my fruit cobbler, right, and-"
