Chapter 28

"So, you girls are going back to New York?" Benny asked Stella.

"Yup, all of our stuff is there and we can't abandoned it."

"That's true, so are you girls going up there for good or you girls going to move down here after all packed up?"

"I don't know, I mean Mackenzie wants to come back here because of Lucas."

"Because of Lucas?" He asked with raised eyebrows as he looked at Stella.

"She really likes him. She told me that when he walks into the room, it's like her heart skips a beat."

"Oh wow, well he told me he really likes her a lot too. He's kinda bummed out that two are going back to New York."

"Well, he doesn't have to worry because she's planning on asking him to come with us."

"I'm sure he'll like that."

"That's what she figured."

"What about Shane?"

"What about him?" She shrugged her shoulder lightly.

"He's breaking up with Kelly today."

"Yeah and?"

Benny rolled his eyes and turned on the couch so he was facing  her more, "Stella, you are his whole world. He would do anything for you. In fact, about a month or two before you came back in town, he told me that would dump Kelly in a heartbeat and-" He was saying but got cut off by Stella.

"Well, he didn't dump her in a heartbeat." She told him with tears in her eyes.

"He wants to be with you. He believes that you are his soulmate. You're the only girl he really wants to be with."

She still had tears in her eyes when she spoke again, "I feel the same but he was going to get married. This might sound conceited but if I am the only girl he wants to be with then he wouldn't have been planning on getting married to that bitch."

"He started thinking you weren't ever coming back here Stella. And also, she pushed him into getting engaged to be getting married."

She rolled her eyes, "So what if that's true, it still doesn't face the fact about what he said earlier."

"About your family being rich?" He questioned with raised eyebrows. 

"Exactly."

"What do you think he means by that?"

"That's why he wants to be with me."

"Sure and I work at the white house." He stated sarcastically.

"Oh my God, really? Well, why haven't you told me about it sooner?" She couldn't help but laugh lightly.

"Because, uh, contract rules." He laughed then got serious again, "Anyways, he said that because he figured they could help you move. It all just came out wrong."

"Oh, well part of me wants to move back down here again but a part of me doesn't want to."

"Well, whatever you do, just follow your heart." He smiled a little.

She leaned over and hugged Benny, "Thanks Benny. You're a good friend, you know that right?"

He hugged her back, "I do try my best." They then shared a laugh.

Stella broke the hug right as Aiden walked into the living room.

"Hey sis, dad wants us to come over for dinner. You up for that?"

"Yeah sure, maybe I'll go through my old room to see what I can find." She answered.

"I need to get home and feed my dog." Benny stated as he looked at his watch.
