evi had sat down in a room on the ship, where she hoped to be alone for some time. just as she thought she had succeeded, she heard a knock on the door

"maximoff? you're in there?" stark asked before he opened the door to peer inside

"what do you want?" evi leaned back on her stool, crossing her arms over her chest

"i've got something for you" he said, fully entering the room then, in his hands were a black dress and a red jacket "they are your sisters clothes, from the-"

"-battle of sokovia" evi whispered "where did you get them from?"

"she had them in a box in her closet, your name was on it" he layed them down onto a table. "that was in there too" stark took out a necklace from his pocket, it was silver and had one single ring on it.

"i don't know if that's anything special, but i thought you should have it"

evi stood up, stepping closer to the man and taking the necklace from out of his hands. "it was my brothers" she whispered, touching it with her finger.

"oh okay, yeah then you should definitely have it"

"how did you get this here?"

"oh" stark exclaimed "i asked friday to fly it up, together with peters suit"

"wow, thank you, that was nice"

"you don't have to thank me" stark sighed, sitting down on the second chair in the room. it was like a little office, with a table and a stool on each side.

"i owe it to you. and i couldn't let you walk around in these clothes anymore" he pointed at evis ripped and dirty clothes

"you don't owe me anything" evi sighed

"yes i do, i said some really horrible things in the past, you did too and it was always okay, but now i feel like i've crossed a line, i really hurt you and i shouldn't have said what i said"

tears welled in evis eyes, at his sincere apology

"you're not the enemy anymore, you haven't been for a long time, what you did for the team, for me, helping to right my wrongs.. you didn't have to do that, but you did"

"i didn't do it for you" evi said, honestly "i did it for my siblings and steve"

"you were close to steve weren't you?" stark asked sympathetic.

"he was like the father i lost a long time ago" he muttered

"you know- um i- i lost my parents too" for the first time since she had met him, stark seemed nervous when speaking to her.

"i wasn't a child, but they were murdered just like yours were and i guess i just want to say, that i know what it feels like to have this- this desire for revenge, but it doesn't change anything, it doesn't make it easier or just let's all the sorrow go away suddenly. and i know i shouldn't say that because i'm the person whose at fault, and it sounds like i'm saying it for me, but i'm not. i'm saying this for you. revenge just destroys you, it makes you be someone you never wanted to be, it makes you bitter, you shouldn't be that, at least not at sixteen"
