TWAS exactly six years ago today when Maison saw this beautiful young lady entering his new favorite cafe.
He was celebrating his birthday and he just dropped by the cafe to buy the cake requested by his son. Favorite nilang pareho yung forest lava cake dito. He was on the counter waiting when the cashier greeted someone.
"Good afternoon Ms Maesy." Masayang bati ng kahera.
"Good afternoon din Karenina." Short but enough to hear the most melodious voice he had ever heard. Napalingon siya dito.
He almost dropped his jaw upon seeing a very angelic yet the most sultry face he had ever seen. She looks so young. Mukhang college student. Nakita niya itong pumunta sa loob office ng cafe.
"Anak ng may-ari?" Curiously he asked the cashier.
"Si Ms Maesy? Ay hindi po. Sa kanya po itong cafe." Magiliw na sagot ng kaharap.
"Really!? She looks like a student to me."
"Kaka-graduate lang po niya, pero simula nung college siya, itinayo na niya ito. Sole owner siya."
"Wow!"
"Yes. Very inspired po kaming lahat sa kanya. Napakaganda na, matalino, mabait at masipag pa." Narinig niya ang complains ng iba. Natatagalan na ata siya.
"Sorry, here's the card." Pagkabayad, kailangan na niya umalis. Bago tuluyang lumabas, hindi niya napigilan na lumingon sa pinasukang pinto ng dalaga.
"I'll see you again." Pangako niya sa sarili. Alam niyang bata pa ito, pero lubhang napukaw nito ang damdamin niya. Nobody has ever done that even his ex-wife. But they were an arranged couple, what does he expect.
All the time he came back, he couldn't get to talk to her. For some reason, his nervousness took over. A factor could be due to their age gap. Baka matakot ito sa kanya. Pero nag-iwan siya ng card sa cashier nito. Sinabi niya na gusto niyang mag-propose ng business sa isa sa mga hotels na kasosyo niya ang mga kaibigan.
But all his hope fade away when that very weekend, his son came home with a new girlfriend. His very own Maesy.
Nakarehistro ang gulat sa mukha nito pagkakita sa kanya. Pero alam niyang higit pa sa gulat ang naramdaman niya ng panahon na yon. Para siyang binuhusan ng semento at na-estatwa kung saan siya nakatayo.
"See, I told you. You are mesmerizing. Even my Dad is stunned." His son teasingly grab her by the waist. "Dad, this is my very lovely girlfriend, Maesy." His son added kissing her cheeks.
"Silly." Namumula ang mukha nito. She looked even more beautiful blushing immensely. She reached out her hand to shake his. Doon lang siya natauhan.
"It's nice to finally know you, Sir." Inabot niya ang kamay nito. The first touch of sensation sent shivers to his body but its too short she had to remove her hand from him.
"Just call me Maison, sweetie. I believe I don't look old." He grinned.
Mas namula pa ang mukha nito. Shoot. He has to remind himself that this is his son's new girlfriend. After that day, they were always together in their house. He didn't go back to her cafe anymore. He didn't pursue the business deal he prepared for her.
Months passed by and he couldn't really take it anymore. He had to be away. The more he sees her, the more he knows things about her, the deeper his feelings grow.
It's very evident that his son loves her too. And she loves his son as well. He can see how happy she is around him. He knows he shouldn't come in between. But then, his heart could only take so much.
