My Mind
-[- C - L -]-

My mind is like an ocean,
A writhing, roiling sea.
Storms are strong and frequent,
My mind is drowning me.

A calm will take the surface,
A facade that can't remain.
My heart is sunk and breaking,
The pressure leaves it slain.

I drift out in the open,
Lost in my own head.
I search and search for land but I
Won't find it 'till I'm dead.

A painful truth will strike me,
Like lightning from above.
It courses through my body,
It burns away my love.

My mind was once a forest,
A peaceful place to rest.
My mind became a hurricane,
And every day a test.

My heart used to be happy,
I thought it'd never break.
Now my heart is shattered,
Love won't give, just take.

I used to have a clear head,
With eyes that say the light.
Now my head is clouded,
I don't know what is right.

Once I loved so freely,
I knew not pain or loss.
Once my world was shattered,
I saw the dreadful cost.

My mind, once calm, now storms.
My heart, once free, is chained.
My head, once clear, won't empty.
My love was lost, not gained.
