(37) Approaching the Untouchable God

Aleodei reached the drop and the soldiers cheered as she landed.

"Infernals are down!" They said cheering her name. Aleodei only dismounted May'Qli and nodded grimly trying to walk past them.

"I need to see Lady  Monarch," she said seriously. They nodded smiling, not noticing Aleodei's motive, pointing to the Throne Room building from afar.

"She's in the throne room," they responded waving to Aleodei. She only nodded and walked on with May'Qli now turned into a small serpent resting on her shoulder. She was at least twelve feet away before her ear flickered at a radio trying to tune itself.

"The Paladin has betrayed Trinity! I REPEAT, the Paladin is betraying Trinity!" the radio yelled out. Aleodei stopped dead in her tracks. damn it. The once cheering guards turned to her with shock and rage in their faces.

"GET HER!" one cried out before they all jumped forward at her. Patrolling soldiers entered and Aleodei began to sprint toward Monarch's throne.

"I'll take care of them!" May'Qli exclaimed shifting into a large beast that fought off the soldiers giving leeway for Aleodei to flee. Aleodei glanced back and hoped she'd stay safe while sprinting forward. Other soldiers ran to her shooting and targeting her with their cores.

"Traitor!" they yelled at her as she struggled to run past them. Stop! I don't want to hurt you! She thought as she tried her best to avoid them.

"Demon!" another said before lunging for her legs. Aleodei cried out as she came crashing down on the concrete ground, using her arms to protect her head. The soldier gripped her legs and chuckled raising their taser to strike. Aleodei felt a fierce determination and felt her resolve sum a strength that began to well up in her as soldiers closed in on her. She closed her eyes and heard May'Qli yell and suddenly felt so many times stronger and opened her eyes when the soldier on her legs began to scream out. He flew back screaming and calling out for help as he was consumed by fire. The soldiers all around her stopped and gaped at the blue flame embracing Aleodei and forming a circle around her. Even the water cores tried to put out her water but it was instantly vaporized and remained unbothered by any other substance or core. Aleodei stood and gasped as she realized what this was. It was her teacher Mod sending her protection through his elestone. She shed a tear and used her core to raise the soldiers really high, rending them unable to come down and stop her. She began to run past the wide pillars holding up the soldiers. As she ran past them the soldiers hurled harsh and awful things at her but she continued, seeing the end of her journey, her destiny in reach.

She panted heavily as her lungs burned from the smoke and fire that May'Qli blew and caused but never stopped. She ran past the hot plate in its still glory. She saw Duin and her walking in the night and her heart ached. She saw the countless times she visited the kitchen and wondered if Ervy got out okay.

If Steve got to safety before the fire spread. If Beck got to his girlfriend and proposed to her like he wanted to.

She hoped the kitchen staff got out before May'Qli's spitfire destroyed it. She ran past the prison building where her dorm lay and ran faster as she neared Lady Monarch's Building.

A group of high core guards waited for her to arrive. She unshielded her swords and enlarged their flames with her core. She screamed as she clashed with her enemies, her former comrades. As she deflected fire, ice, water, electricity, earth, and air she thanked the heavens that the disciples were not there. A soldier rammed a small boulder and Aleodei lagged and was hit causing another concussion and slowing down her motions. The soldiers saw that gap of mental presence in Aleodei and charged all at once. They weren't focused on capturing her, they were going to kill her. She pushed past their overwhelming numbers and fought and punched and kicked screaming and believing that if she held on a little longer she could push through and succeed. But it wasn't that long that this group of 20 core soldiers pushed her down and bound her, slamming her head and leaving her unconscious.
