Chapter Four: Movie Day
This was our first week here. The week we get used to everybody and thing. Chase and I both finished our books and went to get another one yesterday.
And we found out why we're here. For games.
Hayden grabbed the box of Froot Loops out of the pantry and it had a paper taped to it. "Has this always been here?" He asked us, walking back into the main room with the tables. "I don't think so," Dexter answered. "Read it," I told him as he sat down to the left of me. Clara on my right.
"'Welcome to Camp Games. This is an all year camp where you play obstacle filled games once a week. They will fall on random days. When you wake up the day of the games, you have uniforms outside your door for you to wear that day. The games might be super easy and a thirty minutes process. Or they will take the whole day and be dangerous'-" "Dangerous?" Karina cut Hayden off. "How dangerous?" Chase asked. "I don't know, maybe if I could finish, we would find out. Anyways, 'Have fun!' Oh, well. They could be deathly dangerous for all we know." "Great," Lizzie sighs.
"Whoever named this has no creative bone in their body," I dumped out the Froot Loops. "What would you have named it?" Evan asked me. I put my hands up in defense, "I never said I had one either."
"Anyways," Karina started, "we didn't get a uniform, so we don't have one of those games today. What're ya'll thinking about doing?" Everyone shrugged. "We could have a movie day," Max suggested. We all turned and looked at him, "Yeah, you see up there? If you pull that down there is a projector, screen, and dvd player. In that closet over there are a couple dvd cases with movies. We could move the tables, clean the floor, bring in blankets and pillows from our cabins. Maybe make popcorn and cookies. Each of us can choose a movie, we watch five today and five tomorrow. Just an idea." Max shrugged. We all sat there for a second.
"You really thought about this didn't you," I said. He looked at me, "You guys sleep late." "Well I personally love the idea," Karina said. All of us agreed.
The ten of us finished our breakfast and sorted out the jobs. I was very excited, and I tend to get bossy and give everyone things to do to make it perfect. "Who's good with technology?" I asked. Evan and Karina raised their hands. "Great you two can set up the projector and dvd player. Clara and Lizzie you get pillows and blankets from our cabin. Dexter and Max you get pillows and blankets from your cabin. I'm going to bake, who wants to go that with me?" "Me!" Hayden shot up his hand really quickly. I smiled, "Sweet! Then that leaves Jane and Chase to clean. Does that work for everyone?" I realized after I finished that leaving Jane and Chase together was a bad idea. She's going to find a way to set us up.
Every body nodded and went about doing their jobs I assigned. I did feel a bit bad about being so bossy. But it just keeps everything organized and will end up the way we want it. I think. I looked up and saw Chase smiling at me. "What?" "You're very bossy." "I'm aware," I nodded at him. "It's cute though," he winked at me. That did not just happen...
Chase was smiling at me. "What?" "You're very bossy." "I'm aware," I nodded at him. "It's not a super bad thing. I mean you got everything organized." "You're right. Well, get to work," I winked. "Yes, sir," he saluted before walking to the closet with the cleaning supplies. It was weird, I felt as if I've had that exact conversation before...
I walk into the kitchen and see Hayden putting on an apron. I take the hair band off my wrist and put my hair in a ponytail, "So, you like to bake?" "I don't know," he answered. "What?" "I don't think i've ever really baked before." "Oh, I assumed you were a baker by the way you eagerly volunteered to make the cookies." "Yeah, I really want to learn so I thought I could help out," he handed me an apron. "As long as we have a recipe I should be a good enough role model!" Then we started on some cookies.
About an hour and a half later everyone finished the jobs I had assigned and got to picking movies. There were ten cases of dvds and each one seemed to be perfect for the each of us. Meaning one had all my favorite movies, one had all Clara's favorite movies, and so on. We all chose one movie out of our cases and decided who's we were to watch first. I chose Revenge of the Sith. Neither Karina nor Lizzie have watched the two Star Wars movies before this one, but they didn't care. I don't know about the guys.
Everyone agreed on my movie first. I handed Evan the dvd. He started to put it in and said, "Personally I don't think this is the best Star Wars movie." "It's not," I replied. "Then why-" "It has the hottest characters," I cut him off. "Padme." "Anakin." Jane and I said at the same time. "You're right, Padme is pretty hot," Evan agreed with me. I grabbed a cookie, "Don't talk about my wife like that," I joked.
We all got settled and started the movie. Two hours and nineteen minutes later, it was around one fifty. We all took a little bathroom break and got more drinks and other snacks. The next movie was Evan's, and he chose The Incredibles.
The whole day was filled with watching different movies. I'm not sure when we did, but all of us fell asleep towards the end of Karina's movie. The live-action Beauty and the Beast. The other movies were Jurassic Park, Lizzie's choice, and Jaws, Dexter's.
It was really fun watching all the movies and eating the snacks, i'm excited to watch the others tomorrow! Maybe we could do this once a month or something.
*A/N: I don't really like this chapter lol oh well, but i need to add the reason why they were here somehow 🙃*
