Chapter Twelve: Pride Month

Today was the first day of June. First day of Pride Month! I wasn't sure if Max had come out to the guys yet but I haven't said anything and I'm not planning to either. Though they all know that I'm pan.

When I woke up, Chase was the only one awake. Last night we all went to bed super late. We had been having a Harry Potter movie marathon. I didn't expect everyone to get up super early.

When I walked in the kitchen to get my cup of tea, that's when I saw Chase. He was making pancakes, but I didn't think much about it. Everybody agreed last night that if you were to wake up and we're hungry, you didn't have to wait for everyone else. Even though we've never agreed out loud that you normally have to wait for everyone else.

"Morning," I said to Chase. "Good morning Ace!" He smiled, "I was hoping you would get up soon. Or I would've had to eat these for you, so that they didn't get cold." I turned, he was making the pancakes for me? He put his last one on the plate and showed them to me. There were three big pancakes stacked on top of each other, each a different color. The bottom one was blue, middle was normal pancake color, the top pink. It was the pansexual flag.

"Todays the first day of pride month so I made you pan-cakes!" I looked at him, smiling, "Puns and pancakes, my favorite. But really, thank you so much Chase. You're my favorite person, did you know that?" He slightly blushed, and laughed, "I seem to be everybody's," he jokingly said. I took the plate from him and walked into the mess hall.

"Oh," I said turning around to get the syrup. Chase walked out with it in his hand, looking all proud. "My knight in shining armor." I told him to go grab his own plate and gave him the pink pancake. I cannot eat three pancakes. I was surprised when no one else woke up while we were eating.

When I was cleaning our two plates, Max walked in. "Happy Pride Month!!" Chase was sitting at one of the tables. I turned and smiled at Max. "Did you two already eat breakfast?" "Yeah, Chase made me pancakes." "Oh he did?" "Mhm." Max nodded, dropping some bread in the toaster, "When they're all up, I'm going to come out to them. Clearly they aren't homophobic." I squeezed his shoulders, "And guess what I'm going to do, be there for you."

After a while, everyone was awake and Max came out to them. They all supported him the same way they supported me. I was happy seeing us all happy and supportive of each other, that's one thing I didn't miss from back home. Everything is perfect here.

The whole day, and month really, showed me how great this group of people are. We are all so supportive of each other and everyone just seems to enjoy being around the others. If I didn't know any better, I would think all ten of us knew each other from the very beginning of time. We just seemed that close. And I can only imagine how much closer we'll get the rest of this year.
