I managed to avoid Theo all day. I didn't want to talk to him or see him, especially with the almost-kiss unless that was all in my head.

I'm so stupid. He thought he had killed Scott. He hurt my friends and family, too.

I looked outside the kitchen window and the sun was setting down. Scott and Stiles wouldn't be back before the end of the week. My uncle is currently at work all night.

I sighed and closed my homework book. I'm done for tonight. I quickly ran upstairs and changed clothes to my workout clothes. I put out a pair of Adidas leggings and a forest green tank top. I ten grabbed my earphones and plugged them into my phone.

I went back downstairs and put on a pair of running shoes and went outside. I used to run with Theo all the time back in New Jersey. I got used to doing it by myself once he had left town, but it did feel different. It was not the same.

I started running down the road and then spotted the trail I've been using the last couple of weeks. It goes into the woods, but it leads to a park. During the day or most weekends, there are a lot of people that use it with their families and kid. I started running down the path and a woman waved as she ran past me. I waved back and then started to play my music.

My music wasn't loud enough, and I could hear the crunches of the leaves as I ran down the path. After half an hour, I reached the park and slowed down. I breathed heavily as I took a sip of my water bottle.

The park was empty then I noticed the sun had now set down.

I looked down at my phone to look at the time. 9:45 pm. Eh, yeah getting late. I should head back. I walked back down the path for a couple of minutes, just enjoying nature.

Then I took back my pace and started running again. The song finished and in between the change of songs, I heard a large branch crack. I quickly glanced around as I ran and then pressed the button on my earphones to stop the music, but there was nothing around.

I looked back in front of me and I stopped dead in my tracks as something extremely large stood 50 feet away from me.

My eyes widened and I felt my breath stop as I stared at the huge beast in fear. This thing had blue glowing eyes. There was some sort of black smoke coming from all around its body and he had an extra set of claws on each hand.

The thing growled at me as it lunged forwards. I screamed as I darted to my left as fast as I could.

Holy shit. Is that the beast that they were talking about? Are the Dread Doctors still after me?

I stopped once more as the beast leaped and landed right in front of me.

I let out a breath and took a few steps back. I didn't have time to run as it swung its arm at me and he clawed at my skin, and I felt a huge burning sensation from my left side to the middle of my stomach. The blow from its arm tossed me aside and I hit the ground.

I winced in pain and felt tears from how bad this hurt. My hand reached for my stomach and I yelled in pain and turned on my right side. I tried getting up, but my breath was knocked out of me as it slammed me back down on the ground which caused more pain from where it had clawed me.

I shook under its paws and closed my eyes as I heard its breathe close to my ear. Its gonna bite my head off.

"Hey!" A familiar voice yelled. I could see Theo standing much further by a tree. The thing growled and lifted off his weight a bit. "Come on!" Theo yelled once more, but he backed up a bit when the thing stared at him and I could tell he was fearing it. "Come get me!"

The Beast growled and removed his paw off of me and started running at all four after Theo.

I held my stomach in pain as I slowly pushed myself back up. I tried to keep as quiet as I could as I felt the pain through my body. I sat up and crawled towards the closest tree and leaned against it.

I looked down at my stomach and pulled my hand away and noticed that I was shaking uncontrollably. My whole shirt and hand were covered in blood. My tank top was mostly ripped from the claw marks and the fabric was hurting my skin.

I breathed heavily and closed my eyes as I slowly lifted up the tank top a bit then just pressed my hand against my stomach and I groaned in pain.

I have to get out of here. I tried to find my phone on me but noticed it wasn't there. It must've fallen when I ran away from that thing.

I heard growling in the distance and that gave me enough motivation to get up. I slowly got up and used my other hand to lean against the tree.

I then spotted my phone as it lit up. Someone was calling my phone. I was grateful that my phone was on silent cause I don't want that thing to come back here. I tried to make my way toward my phone. Each step a took was so painful and almost made me drop on the floor because the pain was just so incredibly intense. I could feel it in my neck, and it made my legs go weak every time.

As I arrived at my phone, I tried to bend down, but then everything started feeling funny and I started feeling dizzy.

And then the last thing I remember is falling to the ground.

*******

I was in and out because of the pain. I just kept groaning in pain and figured out I was in a vehicle. It wasn't an ambulance. A voice was speaking to me, but I couldn't understand the sounds or what they were talking about.

The vehicle came to a full stop. I heard the engine stop.

A few moments later, the door at my feet opened, and Theo stood there. He was saying something, but I didn't know what he was saying. He got half into the truck and then grabbed my hand.

I let out a small breath as I felt the pain decrease a bit. I glanced down at my hand and saw Theo's veins in his hands turn black. I couldn't even react.

He then looked behind him and started speaking to someone else.

The voices were talking too fast, I couldn't comprehend. Theo then managed to pick me up and someone else helped him place me on a gurney. Then I saw Melissa's head looking down at me. They rushed me inside the hospital and as soon we passed the double doors, I felt the warm hand let go of mine and I passed out once more.

*****

I don't know how long I was passed out, but when I woke up, my body was aching. I was blinded by the white light from the ceiling and when my eyes got adjusted to the brightness, I noticed I wasn't in my room. I was at the hospital.

I tried moving my hands, but something was holding my left hand. I turned my head and saw that Theo had laid his head on the side of the bed and was holding my hand.

He then lifted his head and looked at me and let a sigh of relief.

I didn't say anything. I didn't even know what to say.

"Thanks." Was the only thing I could think.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm super thankful he saved me but that does not change all the things he has done so far.

It was still dark outside, so I was not sure how long I've been passed out. As if Theo could read my mind, he said, "You were out for almost 20 hours." Impossible. That's so long! "I'm sorry for everything, Ash and..."

I cut him off, "Don't. I don't want to talk about it right now."

He nodded.

"Okay."
