"I trust you"

Those words rang through my head for the rest of the day. I wish everyone else did. Why couldn't they understand this is my dream? I always supported them, why couldn't they do the same for me? It wasn't fair.

"Nayeon? Is that you?"

I stood up, brushing away my tears and walking out of the bathroom stall.

"Sana... what are you doing here?"

"You came in here 20 minutes ago and you haven't left. I thought something bad had happened."

"Oh no nothing happened I just-" she cut me off before I could finish.

"You've been crying."

"Me? What? No..." my voice got higher and higher and I knew she could tell I was lying.

"Nayeon. I'm not stupid. Come out of here and talk to me."

Sana held my hand in a comforting way as we walked out of the bathroom. When she reached out her hand to open the door, it burst open and Jihyo stumbled in.

"Nayeon! There you are I-"

"Don't talk to me." I mumbled as I stormed out of the room.

"Nayeon wait!" Sana shouted, running after me.

"See what you've done?" She muttered to Jihyo as she did so.

"Nayeon! Nayeon! Hold up!"

I ran and ran until I reached the corner of campus outside. Sana eventually caught up and, catching her breath, sat down next to me.

"So what's wrong?" She asked

I explained everything to her, about my argument with my dad, why what Jihyo said upset me so much and what Jeongyeon said to me.

"Don't listen to what everyone else says. Do what you think is right." She told me, a comforting smile across her face.

In that instant, she looked at her phone and realised lunch was over. We made our way to our final class of the day.

"Do you wanna hang out this evening?" She asked me.

"Sure."

~~

The day finished and I texted Jeongyeon to let her know I wouldn't be over to hers until the evening.

We got on the bus to her place and laughed the whole way there.

In her living room, I threw myself on the sofa and she followed in suit.

"So tell me everything about Dahyun." I teased.

She told me all of the details about her and Dahyun and how their dates had been going.

"Ok so now I've spilled on my relationship, tell me about yours."

I then took my turn to tell her about how things have been going with my girlfriend.

It reached dinner and we started to get hungry so we raided her cupboards for snacks.

"Sorry my phones ringing one second." Sana said.

When she walked back into the room, she sat down smiling.

"Dahyun?" I asked.

She nodded.

~~

At 6:30, I left Sana's ans made my way to Jeongyeon's.

Me:
I just left Sana's ill be over
in 15!

She didn't reply, but I thought her phone was on charge or she was busy or something. I knew she was home though, she had texted me earlier.

~~

"Jeongie! I'm here!" I shouted as I walked through the door. When she didn't reply, I let out a small "Jeongyeon?".

Maybe she was in the bathroom. I put my bag on the peg and went to go sit on the sofa. When I walked past the kitchen, I heard crying.

Upon waking in, I was met with glass on the floor. I put on her flip flops so I wouldn't get glass in my foot and carefully made my way around the kitchen.

What if there was a break in?

"Jeongyeon!" I gasped. She was sitting on the floor surrounded by glass and blood. "What happened?" I asked.

"The glass- the glass fell out of the- out of the cupboard." She began through tears "and more of them fell and they- they fell on my foot."

I panicked. There was a lot of blood on the floor and it looked like her foot was still bleeding.

"When did it happen?" I asked, trying to stay calm for her sake.

"When I got home."

"That was two hours ago... why didn't you text me, or call me, or anyone?"

"My phone... it's in the living room and I don't want to get up and get more hurt and get blood everywhere and glass everywhere." She sobbed.

I helped her up, keeping her off of her injured foot. I wouldn't be able to get her out of here without stepping on more glass.

"Can I pick you up?" I asked, breathing heavily.

"Yes. Just please make it stop" she cried

"I'll try baby, I'll try."

I took her to the living room, trying not to step on any glass myself. I put her down on the sofa and took a nearby box to elevate her injured foot.

"Do you have any rubbing alcohol?" I asked.

"I think so."

I ran around her house when I finally found it in her bathroom cabinet. I grabbed it as well as some cotton wool and attempted to clean some of the blood off her foot so I could see the injury.

"Oh." I stopped.

"What- what is it?" She stammered nervously.

"Um. Not to panic you or anything but there's 2 big pieces of glass in the top of your foot which I guess explains the mass bleeding."

"WHAT?" She shouted, crying even harder than she was before.

"It's going to be ok. I just need to get you to hospital."

"I'm not going in an ambulance." She mumbled.

"Ok then, I'll call Irene to take you."

"Come with me. Please. I don't want to do this alone."

"I wasn't going to leave you" I comfortingly said.
