She was the light, the good, the pure.
But when the coin flipped it was the first time she had to embrace it;
The darkness gushing out of her wrists, the excruciating pain that came with it.
But the light in her body, her being, was merely show.
The writing that covered her body in letters not even she could understand.
Did it ever even mean something?
What would happen now that she ultimately had lost?
As another wave of agony wafted over her, she snapped back to reality. Suddenly.
Just looking down at the mess made her feel nausea.
She couldn't feel herself anymore, and knew that nothing could save her.
And as death started to overcome her, she wondered what would happen now.
Would the darkness search for someone new to overtake? A victim? Or a host, perhaps?
But all that didn't matter, because the light she thought rested inside her, was at a safer place.
It was with the person she intended to save.
She knew that she failed many times before, but this was a success.
Not for her, but for this person she adored.
That person now resembled the light and her spot as darkness would soon be taken away.
She wasn't jealous.
Envy was the last thing she felt.
She actually felt relieved.
She wouldn't be here to see the new light shine, but she still knew that she contributed to this outcome.
And so, she embraced death.
It wasn't unwelcoming, it was warm and pleasant.
Because she knew, she wasn't needed anymore.
//an: the wrist part isn't about self harm, that's why I didn't add a tw. She got her hands cut off in the scene before this one//
