The peace didn't last long. It never did.
People never learned from their mistakes, and the story keeps repeating. It's always the same. Nothing changes in this corrupt world. Everyone wants to reach the top with no regard for other people.
With centuries of this story repeating, humans started slowly destroying themselves..
They couldn't see it, they never could. Not until it was too late.
Everyone fought to get to the top. What top was there, though? The system failed a long time ago. Laws were disregarded, and the people's behavior seemed primitive.
Childbirth rates were at an all-time low, who would even want to bring kids into this horrid world?
Not only the humans were changing, the environment did too. It didn't even grow cold anymore.
And so, Rama was sitting on the top of a high building. It was closed off years ago and well into falling apart.
This decrepit wasteland of a world seemed depressing.. it was quiet, and no one was around. The population was only a few hundred thousand, and people started dying more easily again.
Rama was staring out into the falling sun, it seemed closer than ever. Her feet were dangling off the edge, and a mild breeze flowing through her hair.
She leaned back, breathing in.. and out.. the toxins in the air didn't bother her.
Years and years of noise finally overshadowed by nothingness. The silence was louder than any noise of war could ever be.
Staring out into the sun was peaceful, perhaps because Rama knew this wouldn't be her end. It never was.
Maybe she would be scared if this was her only chance at living. She didn't care anymore, not about this awful world.
The sun was going down, night setting in. Rama glanced down at the ruins of other buildings. They fell apart a long time ago, she can't even remember how long it was. When she looked up again, she sighed: "I think, I've lost all my humanity by now." The sky was beautiful as stars started falling and it slowly darkened..
She followed a star with her tired eyes: "Ah.. it seems the angels are falling"
She closed her eyes and breathed in.. and out..
