Josie stood up Lizzie was still lying on the ground Alaric standing over her "I thought you said they wouldn't actually merge" Kai whispered into my ear somewhat startling me his breath fanning across my neck.

"They didn't," I whispered back turning to him our faces were ridiculously close to one another personal space was apparently not a thing to Kai Parker, If you were anyone looking in you would probably think we're in some type of relationship which we are very much not.

"Sure looks like they did, I mean I've never watched one, you know with the whole once-in-a-generation type of thing, but I have been a part of one technically two I guess and this seems about right," he said leaning back against the wall once again.

"That's the point it's supposed to look like they did," I said getting up and walking back down the bleachers as Josie disappeared with the necromancer. Soon Alaric's attention would shift to Lizzie to me since Hopes not here turning to Kai "you should probably get out of here" I said to him "I really don't want to upset Alaric more than he already is tonight and you're really not supposed to be here"

"yeah probably," he said scratching his head the two of us started to walk out of the gym "I'll just go back to the house and do whatever maybe catch up on a few things"

"Yeah just like don't do anything crazy, I don't know when I'll be home but ill let you know I think I need to stick around here for a while, be with Hope," I said and Kai nodded going along with the charade that Lizzie was dead we had to keep it up he knew that if the plan was going to work.

"I know Lizzie was your best friend and all but if it makes you feel better there's still a part of her inside of Josie," Kai said and I nodded forcing tears to my eyes to really sell the performance I was giving, a few tears trickled down my cheeks and he and to my shock his hand came up wiping those tears away "And trust me that part of her can find a way out take it from someone with experience"

"Thanks," I said quietly looking down at the floor to attempt the blush creeping up my face as he started to turn away to walk towards the door "remember to lock the doors" I yelled after him. My words had a double meaning we figured that Josie might try to pop by the home so when he got to the house he would have to activate a boundary spell that only me him or Hope could break until I got home no staff would be in the house tomorrow not even Layla we couldn't trust anyone, the only reason Kai is on the trust list is that we really don't have a choice with the whole blood bond siphon situation.

"Yeah yeah I know, lock the doors, don't leave the stove on, no touching your stuff " he listed stopping just before he opened the door patting himself down as if he was looking for something  "keys," he said turning around his hand still on the door handle.

"don't crash my car parker" I threw him my keys.

"Yeah yeah," he said

"Wait" I yelled walking up to him and holding out my hand.

"Probably a good idea, since you know we're probably not going to see each other for a while and all" he took my arm and siphoned a little every time he siphoned from me it was like a weighted cloud was lifting from me "there you go, Ira, all set" he let go of my forearm and this time actually leaving.

smoothing down my shirt wiping my tears making my way to Alaric's office to find him carrying Lizzie down the Hallway.

"What the hell have you done," Alaric said to me as I came into view

"What do you mean,"  I asked acting confused we couldn't do this here not now it wasn't safe there were listening eyes around I just hope Alaric understood.

"Locking me in the therapy box, this whole plan"  Alaric yelled obviously mad with the plan he wasn't a part of, I felt bad for not including him but the only people Hope and I could trust with the actual plan were ourselves our minds were the only two that were safe against Josie. People involved only knew certain parts at certain times like MG knew he had to get Lizzie back and make her drink the herbal mixture for the potion to work, Kaleb knew to tell Alaric what was going on or what he thought for that matter, Landon needed to give a little blood and that there was a good chance he would die. Everyone had a part to play and everyone had to play it perfectly for this to go right.
