Chapter 1: meeting him

Smoothing down my long skirt as I walked into the Salvatore school, It was absolute chaos after what seemed like an eternity of walking through hallways I finally Found Hopes' roommate Alyssa Cheng after looking for about an hour "Hi you must be Alyssa, Hopes roommate" I said as she looked to be prepping a spell. She glared up at me from her position on the floor while placing a candle making my face fall from the friendly smile to a frown.

    "And who are you?" her bitter tone slightly shocked me but it shouldn't have because of the glare I got when I asked if it was her.

    "Era, I'm Hope's cousin. Do you know where she is by any chance?" her eyes widened at my cousin's name which was odd.

    "No, I don't know where she is, she doesn't usually tell me I'm not really a part of her little posse" I nodded looking down at the grimoire she was reading from she was trying to do a boundary spell honestly it was weak.

    "Ok thanks anyway," I said turning around and starting to walk off spotting a shelf with the grimoire that would best suit Alyssa's needs, I smiled "Oh, and Alyssa that  boundary spell won't keep Hope out," I said holding my hand "Motas" The book flew to my hand flipping through the pages I smiled finally finding the right one "Here Alyssa this one should work," I said handing her the book.

    "Why are you giving this to me?" she asked extremely confused.

    "I need you to buy some time for me while I strike a deal this will last longer than your previous one but Hope will inevitably get through" I turned around and started to walk out.

    "They're at a warehouse off-campus" Alyssa yelled after me.

    "Thanks" the information was somewhat useful but not really since it didn't give me a location so after leaving Alyssa Cheng I went back to my car and performed a mini locator spell  to try and find her which I did like Alyssa said she was in a Warehouse off-campus smiling I drove to it once I reached it I hopped out of the car grabbing my canvas bag that was my makeshift purse for the moment as it contained magic objects I didn't want just floating around my "Hope I yelled as I got closer to the door"

    "Yeah in here," she said and I smiled walking in to see her with the man I'd been looking for the guy who would change everything for me if he agreed, the man who currently stood before me looking me up and down, Malachi Parker, I had seen him in vision after vision with me the timeline was starting to solidify the closer we got to each other I ran into Hopes' arms the minute I saw her.

    "God I missed you so much, something wasn't right for months when you were gone I couldn't figure it out though, even in my visions I saw you but couldn't understand who you were," I said as we hugged it went on for a good minute or two until we broke.

    "Your flowers they're dying," Hope said her fingers running down my braided hair which had flowers woven into my braided crown, channeling me she brought the flowers back to life showing me everything that was going on in return I showed her the plan of mine that was about to unfold and why I was doing it she kissed my forehead as the flowers started to liven up. "So you ready to help us look"

    "Sure what are we looking for," I asked.

    "Something with the power of a celestial event," Kai said from behind me.

    "Oh my god," I turned around to see him much closer now practically standing in front of me "I'm so sorry I didn't see you there" I held out my hand to him "I'm Era" Immediately when he took my hand I knew he knew I was dying he really wasn't hiding it very well his eyes looked as if they were trying to tell me something but he didn't know how "Are you okay?" I asked.
