After a successful first week at the ministry, it was finally Friday. Bella had waited all week in anticipation of the promise of going out with Harry to see the poisoning crime scene. Bella and Hermione had just shared a delicious breakfast when Bella spoke up, "it's finally Friday. Blood, guts and gore await me today. Three of my favorite things."
Hermione stared at her girlfriend in disbelief. "I can't believe you are excited to visit the morgue and that crime scene. From what you've told me, it seems rather disturbing," she said reaching for her cloak while passing the other one to her girlfriend.
"Ahh but pet, lest you forget," Bella said putting her robes on, "I was once an amazingly famous torturer. This stuff doesn't phase me." They started heading to the floo, "but it might finally help me catch some of the bad guys Potter is looking for." Bella smiled at her girlfriend before reaching down, grabbing her hand and tossing the powder in the floo. They stepped out of the fireplace on the main floor of the ministry. "So I'll see you for lunch at noon?"
"Yes, noon Bella." Hermione smiled as they got in the elevator. When the doors open and Bella exited she looked back and added with a wink, "unless you want to be late and meet me in the broom closet today." She saw Hermione turning red as the door closed and she laughed down the hallway to her office. She walked in and saw the five employees working away in their cubicles.
"Ahh, good morning Flowers, Boy one, Boy two, Not a Weasley and Little Dragon. How is everyone this fine morning?" Bella asked as she made her way to Harry's office. One of the men started to respond when Draco spoke up, "don't bother. She doesn't care. Just stay quiet and she'll walk away."
"I'll be back for you later, dragon." Bella threw a cheeky look over her shoulder as she sauntered into Harry's office without knocking. "Potter," she offered in a curt greeting while nodding her head at him in acknowledgement. "Lovely day to see a dead body isn't it?" She asked in a generally cheerful tone.
"Morning, Bellatrix. I can honestly say you are the first person I've taken to the morgue who is actually looking forward to it."
"It beats sitting around that ruddy office all day thinking up witty things to say to my nephew."
"We can head down in a half hour or so. I have to finish up a bit of paperwork. After the morgue, we are scheduled to go to the crime scene then finish up at St. Mungos."
"Fair enough. Come get me when you are ready. Or send in my secretary." Bella said getting up and heading to the door.
"Bellatrix you don't have a secretary."
"Then what is Flowers here for?"
Harry sighed. "She's a case consultant, Bellatrix. Same as you."
"Funny how she does everything I ask from her though. Seems like a secretary to me." Bella shrugged and left. She stopped at her nephew's cubicle. "I have some time to kill before Potter is ready to go. Come to my office. I'd like to have a little chat with you." Bella walked off not looking to see if Draco was going to follow her or not. She sat down and after a few minutes, she saw her nephew come in and shut the door behind him.
"What is it you wish to discuss, Aunt Bella?" Draco asked a little too formally for Bella's liking.
"Your mom told me on Monday that you have proposed marriage to your witch."
Draco's face lit up in a genuine smile. "That I have, Aunty. Most shocking was that she said yes."
"Don't sell yourself short. You are half Black and any woman would be luck to have you as their husband." Bella went quiet for a moment not used to dishing out compliments. "You should bring her over to tea sometime. Hermione and I would love an opportunity to get to know her better."
