"Your Grace, I hope you know what you're doing,"
In the gilded hallway, the servant stood, waiting for his mistress's command. "Our people do need our attention, and you would not be a good queen if you were to neglect them for too long in pursuit of...this"
Kneeling in front of the large, ornate mirror, the girl's head whipped around. Far from being in her right mind, she was glaring into the mirror with a fearsome gaze.
"Oh, does it seem that I care?" she snapped. "I don't want to think about mere peasants' problems when mine are so much larger! I only permitted you to be here because I thought you would understand! Don't you see? Nothing but tragedy is in store for us unless I change our luck. You heard what that girl said!"
Leering at her mirror image, the young queen straightened up. In the depths of the magic mirror she could see a vision reflected. Two golden-haired siblings, a boy and a girl, both with crowns on their heads. Sharing the throne. Tears filled the young queen's eyes as she gazed deeper into it. She wanted that future, more than she wanted anything else. She wanted to stop the calamity that was about to befall them.
She hadn't noticed the black-clad figure skulking behind her. His twisted smile changed into a frown as he watched the girl gazing.
"So for once she isn't merely looking at herself" he muttered. "Your 'unhappy ending' is hidden within that mirror,"
Drawing closer to the pair, Jack cocked his shotgun. Only this time, he wasn't aiming at the girl.
He was aiming at the mirror.
"Riliane, stop!" Six more figures raced toward the mirror, the Crypton Six themselves, Miku in the lead.
"Please, Riliane, don't" Miku pleaded, panting. "If you break the Magic Mirror, then Alterna will...Our world will,"
"SILENCE!" Riliane shouted, her voice loud and commanding, as expected of a queen. "For too long we have been left with this prophecy. Our fates are our songs, for we are the Modules. And yet..." She laughed. "What if that wasn't true?"
"What are you saying?" a boy in a blue cloak cried out. Next to him, a girl in a green dress shivered. "If you mess with the Magic Mirror, our fates will be changed! No one's story will be certain!"
"Funny..." Riliane said coldly. "What if that's exactly what I want?"
Touching her hand to the glass, Riliane stepped forward. A bright flash of light poured out from the mirror, enveloping all within, spreading out to the edges of the city. Alterna was showing its dimensional instability. Everything seemed to fade away in the light, and then...
