'Oh my God
I see how everything is torn in the river deep
And I don't know why I go the way
Down by the riverside'

3rd person pov:

Four small little figures held the cold bars of the forbidden gate that they were told never to go by. The gate in closed Grace Field Orphanage from the outside world. Despite the warnings however the curious children secretly went to the gate in hopes to see something interesting. They were met with disappointment when they realised nothing was there.

"Hey" one of the toddlers-Emma said in her usually chirpy tone. She had wild orange hair with one strand standing up, no matter how hard anyone tried the strand could never be tamed. She also had giant emerald eyes and pale skin. "What do you want to do if you go outside?" Emma asked as she ran over to the other three; Ray, Norman and Y/N.

Norman and Y/N were twins the boy Norman was older by 12 minutes. The twins shared similar features there ghostly skin was paired with icy blue eyes. The differences you could make of the two were; Norman had white hair like snow and Y/N had light blonde hair. Norman also had no freckles whereas Y/N had some painted delicately on her small nose.

The twins were holding hands as Norman inspected the gate holding the cold bars with his left hand. Y/N's hand was holding his right one. The blonde was slightly nervous standing in front of the gate, it was much taller than her and it intimidated her.

"Dunno how about you?" Ray said in return. Ray had small forest green eyes and jet black hair which covered his left eye. He was more quiet than his other friends always observing.

"I want to ride a giraffe! " Emma shouted proudly smiling to ear to ear. The twins laughed and Ray rolled his eyes knowing that riding a giraffe would be logically impossible.

"Good luck with that" Ray says making Emma bounce on the spot with excitement not catching his sarcastic tone.

"These Gates don't open from this side" Norman spoke up and the three children look over to there white haired friend. "I wonder what it's protecting us from" He muttered mainly to himself which made them all stare blankly at the gate, all bewitched on the mystery of the gate between there world and the outside.

"Because it's dangerous, eh?" Ray stated recalling from what there mom had always responded with when asked about the gate. Grabbing a hold of one of the bars the raven scoffed "We all know that's a lie".

"You think? " Norman asked also becoming sceptical on the matter.

"Mm I don't like this it's all sort of creepy" Y/N admitted she had a weird feeling whenever she thought of the outside world but never could come up with a answer for why she felt that way. Ray noticed the change in the girl and subtly placed his hand on her shoulder gently squeezing it trying to make her more comfortable.

"Let's go back before they find us" the Raven says with a small smile towards his light blonde friend.

Behind the gate was the outside world, Y/N had a strange feeling from thinking about the outside world and she didn't like it at all, the outside felt unsettling to her.

And so off the four young children went running off back to the house unaware of the dangers beyond the gate...
