'Oh who is she?
A misty memory
A haunting face
Is she a lost embrace?'

3rd person pov

It was like time stood still as the two analysed each other both too scared to move at the slightest blink of the eye they feared the other would vanish into the smoke. Ray was met with memories of the girl all crashing down on him at once the overwhelming emotions suffocated him as he starred into her eyes looking for any signs of her being a hallucination. He was frozen as he tried to make his mind slow down. The Y/n in front of him was nothing like the one in his memories. The horror mixed with relief made Ray feel like he was going insane he was terrified of the girl in front of him as he had heard the screams of her victims and watched as she killed innocent people. Yet he desperately wanted to hold her in his arms and tell her everything he regrated not telling her before.

But instead he was met at gun point by the girl he loves. The one he mourned for. The girl who he could never forget.

"Greetings from the dead" Y/n spoke with a dry tone much different from what Ray had remembered. Her voice did not bring him comfort or warmth no instead he was left with a deathly cold chill that ran down his spine. Tilting her head to the side with an amused smirk on her face the girl said "Aw don't tell me you thought I was dead" she then let her smile fade away letting a crack of her old self appear. "I made you a promise" the vaguely familiar tone in her voice was music to Ray's ears he had forgotten how much it meant to him.

"I thought I lost you" He let out a shaky laugh trying to resist the urge to run his hands through her hair.

"LIAR! You forgot about me! " She angrily spoke tightening her hold on her gun. "YOU ALL ABANDONED ME! "

"Y/n I haven't stopped thinking about you since that day you left! Not a day had passed when I didn't have you with me. " He hesitatingly lowered his gun earning Y/n to cry out in anger.

"Pick up the gun Ray" She demanded shaking her gun to him.

"I won't fight you Y/n" Tossing his gun to the ground Y/n let out a small scream as frustrated tears spilled down her cheeks.

"DON'T!!" She shouted when he tried to step closer "HATE ME! AFTER EVERYTHING HATE ME! KILL ME!!!!" she stepped back shaking as she spoke.

Ray looked at the girl with so much pain he knew she hated herself and though she deserved to die due to her actions Ray knew that feeling all too well as he to believed he deserved death after being his mother's spy for years and he could not save Norman or Y/n from being shipped out.

"I could never hurt you... I hate myself for not being able to protect you all those years ago...please forgive me and let me help you now" He begged watching as the girl shook her movements and emotions were unpredictable Ray didn't know how she would react with his words.

"Please let me hate you- after everything I have done... All I have left is a burning hatred Ray-" He tried to step forward but she pressed her gun right up against his forehead. "All I feel is rage" the voice was sharp and venomous the look in her eyes told Ray that she was drowning in her own mind trapped in a loop of torment.

"No, you have me" Ray's voice was so foreign to the girl now she couldn't remember him sounding so determined before. The voice she heard in front of her was desperate like he needed her to believe him- to trust him just one last time. Ray's eyes flicked up to the gun in front of him as he raised his hands slightly in front of him. At a flick of her fingers he would be dead. "I will not abandon you... Not again" He reinsured.  Y/n looked like broken glass as her pupils shook and her tears flooded her vision. She needed him like she needed oxygen to breathe.
