I woke up with an awful migraine. It hurt so bad. I groaned in pain and sat up. I was in my bed. Memories than came running back to me. The ball, Nora, Matteo, shooting, crying, passing out.

Someone walks in, and I turn to see Nathan. He was holding breakfast in his hand and some Advil for my head.

"Hey.. how are you feeling?" Nathan said sitting next to me.

I shrugged and said, "Alright, thanks"

Nathan nodded. I took a bite out of my toast and took out a pill. I gulped the pill down with water.

"The hospital called" Nathan said catching my attention.

"They did?" I said scared of what he has to say. I really hope my dad is okay.

"Yeah.. Your dads not dead.. he's fine. He's in a coma though" Nathan said looking down at his folded hands. "He also had severe head injuries"

I nodded slowly. Head injuries? He could of done this to my father? Who started the shooting?

I started to sob, and I felt Nathans arms hug my body.

"Shh, it's alright. You're alright" Nathan said placing his chin on my head.

"A lot happened Nathan!" I yelled out sobbing. "There was a huge shooting! People were injured, dead!"

Nathan nodded. I was really hurt. He could tell.

"Matteo said he can not be with me.." I said letting go of Nathan.

"Why?" Nathan said moving a strand of hair out of my face.

"Because our families are rivalries. My father hates him and his family, and his family hates me and my father" I said covering my face with my hands from embarrassment.

"Davina.." Nathan said looking away from me. I hummed in response.

"Do you love him?" That words hit me like lightning. Do I love him? Do I?... Of course I do. I love him so much.

"Of course I do.. I love him so much, Nathan. It hurts. I know I recently met him but it feels like I've known him my whole life..." I said sobbing into his chest.

Nathan nodded and rubbed my back. "Then you need to tell him... what he did was probably a good reason but I can also see where your coming from"

I nodded and looked up at Nathan. "Thank you Nathan.. your a great friend. I'm really grateful to have you by my side..."

"I'm grateful to have you too, Davina" Nathan said hugging me. Someone slowly opened the door, revealing Nora.

"I'll go now.." Nathan said, exiting out the door.

"Hey girl..." Nora said sitting next to me. I awkwardly smiled. There was now a awkward silence.

"Oh! These are for you.. they are donuts.. fresh out of the oven.." Nora said handing me the bag.

"Thanks" I said, fidgeting with my hands.

"The ball was really something.." Nora said sighing.

I nodded. Nora then started to tear up. "I'm sorry about your father.. I'm sorry about hitting you. I didn't want you to shoot my brother and I know it wasn't your fault because you were in grief. I'm so sorry"

I hugged her and she started to cry softly. "It's okay Nora.. yes I was in grief and I'm sorry for pointing the gun at you guys. I honestly didn't mean it"

Nora nodded and wiped her tears. "Matteo is wondering if your okay.. He wanted to come but he wanted to give you some space..he's worried about you. He won't stop thinking about you"

I scoffed and got up from my bed. "He literally said he doesn't want to be with me. I understand his point about our families but.. what about secret relationships?"

"Davina it really isn't that easy"

I paused in my tracks and sighed. Nora was right. "Then I guess it wasn't meant to be.." I said sitting next to Nora.

Nora placed her hand on my shoulder and smiled. "It is and I know it. He loves you and cares for you"

I nodded and smiled back. Nora hugged me and I hugged her back. A knock was heard on my door.

"Don't I ever get some privacy!? There is always people knocking on my door!" I said annoyed. Nora laughed at my outburst.

"Okay girl. I'll call you later to check up on you." Nora said opening the door, revealing Alec.

"Can I come in?" Alec asked. I nodded and he stepped in closing the door. Why did he have to close the door?

"How May I help you?" I asked getting your from my bed.

"Just wanted to check up on you.. how you doing?" Alec said placing his hand on my back.

"I'm okay-" a loud, curdling scream interrupted us. We ran out of the room and ran downstairs.

"Aria, if you are screaming at the butler then-" Alec and I were faced with something traumatizing. It wasn't a butler and she wasn't screaming at a butler... she was screaming at her mother..

laying on the floor..
