" What the f**k!" Anirudh screeched as he stared at his TV with wide eyes.
Saritha glanced at him for a slight moment before turning her face towards the TV.
" The government is implementing a total ban on social apps such as Facebook, Instagram, twitter, tiktok and YouTube. " the news caster repeated causing Saritha to swallow her saliva while Anirudh cursed.
" Yenna nonsense thanama seiruranunga ?" Anirudh growled as he glared at the TV.
" Internet connection will be available for two hours in the morning, 5 to 7 am and 5 to 7 pm," Saritha said while she read out the small lines shown in the TV.
" What the- Namma yenna medieval kalathulaya irrukom! Yenna ithulam!" Anirudh shouted.
" Namma nenaichita ode problem serious pole, government or rather governments don't want civilians to know anything anytime soon," Saritha said.
Anirudh furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at Saritha who gazed into his eyes.
Suddenly the TV switched off and the a beep sound was heard. Saritha frowned as she saw the AC stopped working while Anirudh looked perplexed.
" Yennachu TV ke! Ninge yen TV ah spoil panitingala!" Anirudh said accusingly at Saritha who nod her head before standing up.
" Ama apidiye naanga thaan AC, lights yellam spoil panitum," Saritha said as she walked towards the suis and flicked it.
Anirudh's Adams apple bobbed as he rubbed his neck feeling utterly foolish with himself. He watched as she walked towards the balcony door and slide it open.
" Sir! Come here," Saritha's voice hissed with anxiousness.
Anirudh frowned and walked towards the balcony. His eyes widened seeing the empty car park.
" Is there anyone in this building ?" Anirudh whispered while Saritha swallowed her saliva.
" Remember that police man...Namma thaan mothele vantom nu sonaru appo athuku aprom yaarume varala ?" Saritha whispered as she eyed him with a worried look.
" Nonsense anthe couple vantanga...unnode id card," Anirudh said trying to sound confident.
Saritha furrowed her eyebrows while Anirudh turned away and walked inside. Her eyes narrowed as she saw a small campfire at the car park.
She let out a frightened sound as someone knocked on their main door. She swallowed her saliva and walked back inside where Anirudh looked at her with a dark expression.
" Yaarunu teriyele," Anirudh said while looking at the door. The sound of knocking continued causing Saritha to nod her head.
" Go to the kitchen," Saritha told the child who nod and ran away with Jacky in tow.
Anirudh exhaled his breath and walked towards the door. He unlatched the locks and opened it slightly when the person on the other side pushed the door widely.
Saritha swallowed her saliva and looked apprehensive while Anirudh looked at the men wearing masks and protective gears.
" Anirudh sir ?" The man's voice said in awe causing Anirudh to exhale his breath and nod his head.
The others glanced at Saritha who pressed her lips together trying to control her fear
" Yethuku sir door ah knock paninge ?" Anirudh asked the man with a charming smile.
The man's eyes left Saritha's face before looking back to Anirudh with a calm smile.
" We didn't know that you lived here. Oru routine check ke vanturukom because many people haven't come back. We are not sure avanga odi poitangala ille settu poitangalanu," The man said calmly.
" Um sir," Saritha said in soft tone causing the man's eyes to lock into hers immediately.
" Inthe floor le vere yenthe apartment um aalu irruka?" Saritha asked the man who gave her a pierced look.
" Yethuku madam kekuringe ?" The man asked in a stern tone causing Anirudh to clear his throat.
" Ille current pochu...yenge vitule candle ille athan borrow panlam nu," Anirudh said causing the man to eye them both.
" Inthe floor le ninge mattum thaan irrukinge...Actually one floor up and two floors down, there's no one expect you both...Innum upper floor nanga pogala so teriyele," The man said nonchalantly.
" How's this possible! We cannot go out nu sonninge...anthe fence and all," Anirudh said.
" Ama sir Ana kekka tha pona...neraya peyar government kudathe anthe 1 hour le escape panna pathanga," the man said while the others chuckled.
Saritha felt and eerie feeling hearing the men nonchalantly reply. She exhaled her breath and wisely shut her mouth.
" Appo electricity vara-" Anirudh began when the lights flickered.
Saritha exhaled her breath softly as the TV began blinking with black and white lights.
" Electricity is back sir and don't worry. Namma government is trying their best to solve this issue, " the man said and marched out.
Anirudh began locking the door while Saritha exhaled her breath loudly. She furrowed her eyebrows when Anirudh gave her a glare.
" Yene yethuku moraikirunge?" Saritha asked Anirudh who pursed his lips.
" Main doors lam locked nu sonne...ivanga yepidi vanthanga ?" Anirudh asked Saritha who frowned.
" It was locked! Ivanga kitte administration keys kuduturukalam," Saritha said while Anirudh gave her an irritated look.
" Watchman...security guard yaarume ille aprom yepidi! Building manager was not here either!" Anirudh said.
" Ungaluku yepidi building manager ille nu teriyum?" Saritha asked Anirudh who gave her an irritated look.
" Yenna he personally informed me that floor keys vanthu next week kudukuren! I am out of town nu!" Anirudh said.
Saritha nod her head as she hummed. Her eyebrows furrowed. She rubbed her eyebrows before standing up straight.
" Security guard is here! Anthe lobby le oru corridor irruke le ange thaan anthe allu bottle ode ponna," Saritha said while Anirudh rubbed his eyes.
" Lobby le corridor na staircase thaan," he said in a flat voice while Saritha scrunched her face up.
" Yov née yenna loosa ! Ithe flat le thana irruke! Inthe apartment lobby le yenna irruke nu kude teriyatha ?" Saritha said causing Anirudh to grit his teeth.
" Née and those saitans yennode veete invade panigala! That was my first night in this house!" Anirudh hissed and stalked away to his second room.
Saritha rolled her eyes and walked away. She made sure to lock all the windows and the sliding door.
" TV no cartoon ?" The boy's voice chimed causing Saritha to exhale her breath.
" Vaa poi parkalam, Netflix yethum velai seiyuthanu," Saritha said and walked out to the hall with the dog and boy in tow.
The dog, woman and child exhaled their breath when they found out that Netflix worked however only for 2 hours when the Internet connection is allowed.
Saritha ended up downloading the cartoons for the boy alongside some movies before the connection was cut.
