AU - The Story About Sun and Moon #2

"Princess, eat your dinner."

"I'm no longer hungry appa. I'm going to my chamber."

The princess removes herself from the table, leaving the whole clan still continuing on eating. She only has one goal now, to search for her Moon and explain everything.

It was a full moon tonight. Princess Sun could see the dark sky being illuminated by the moon. It was so beautiful but it's not the moon she was looking for.

She was looking for her only Moon.

She searched everywhere for the knight but couldn't find her.

Tired of searching, the princess went to the courtyard. Thankfully no other guards were there on the lookout. She could have some time for herself.

"Is the knight there, eomma...?"

"She is..."

"Her knight stood in front of the fountain with a single sunflower gripped tight in her hand. She was looking up to the moon with eyes closed."

"Eh a sunflower?"

Solar said nudging Byul. Seeing where she got the idea from.

"Ehemmm......We will continue..."

"Moon..."

The Princess calls upon her knight. Smiling, feeling happy that she finally found her person.

The knight didn't turn around or even acknowledging her presence so the princess ran towards her and hugged her from behind.

"Please talk to me..."

"Hmm. Why should I princess. You didn't even talk to me."

"Ouch..."

"Yepp...ouch..."

"The knight is so bitter I hate her eomma."

"Heyy... She has gone through a lot you will understand later alright."

"Please listen....Listen to what I'm about to say."

"Do you know the story about the Sunflower and the sun."

The princess tightened her hug and the knight could feel the other girl crying softly.

"At dawn, the sunflower will face the east and wait for the sun to come up. It will follow the sun. Moving where the sun is moving. Following its light. When nightfall comes, the sunflower will still face the east awaiting the sun's return. They do this until they wither and die. I am like a sunflower I guess."

The princess could sense no good will come with speeches like that. Not with the way Moon paused while talking. Voice almost too rough and quite to be heard clearly.

"Moon...Look at me..."

The knight turns around finally. She could see how the princess looked beyond devastated. Eyes swollen and red. Full of tears. Fallen like waterfalls.

Moon holds the princess's chin with her left hand while wiping those still fallen tears.

"It's not my decision Moon. It never was. I don't want to marry. Not to him. I lov...."

Before the princess could say her confession, the knight stopped her.

"No...Don't say those words when you're not staying. We will never be together. We have known this since the beginning."

Moon gives the sunflower to her princess.

"But I want to be with you Moon..."

"It's funny isn't it...Life....I thought I would be fine with how we were before. How we are this whole time but I guess wanting more is not enough. Not in our time. I'm leaving tomorrow, my Sun."

"Noo!!"

Seeing how the princess has started to cry again, the tough knight couldn't help herself and shed some of her own.

"I need to go. I've done my best here. Maybe it's enough and maybe we will meet each other again."

"Noo! Jeball!!"

The princess holds the knight tight. Holding her hostage. Not moving an inch and not letting the knight from escaping.

"You said you will stay forever. You said you will follow me."

"I'm sorry princess. I could only wait for you. How can I follow you my princess, not when you will be loved by someone else. I wish you the best of luck. Goodbye."

The knight brings their face close together in a short breathless last kiss before leaving the princess alone in the courtyard.

There was a small note attached to the sunflower. When the princess reads it, she falls down on her knees. Sobbing on the gravel.

You always call me your moon but I don't want to be one since if I am the moon, we will never meet my Sun.

I want to be your sunflower. Even if I wither and die at least I could be in the presence of your light.

I will wait for you forever my princess.

I love you

"Eomma...That's....That's too sad....*sob *sob"

Mi-Sun suddenly burst into tears after Byul finished reading the last part.

"Byul! Look what you have done. Mi-Sun is crying."

"Omo baby comes here..."

The little girl jumps in Byul's arms and wraps both of her arms around her neck sobbing on Byul's shoulder.

Byul raised her eyebrows at her wife as if asking what she needs to do.

Solar mouthed.

"You started it...You and your angst."

"Mi-Sun look at me. Look at eomma."

"Eomma, you said happy ending only!"

"Of course I did but I never say it would be easy."

"Why not."

"Life is hard Mi-Sun ah. You will understand when you're older. Not everyone has an easy time finding the love of their life."

"Is it easy for you and mama?"

"Ohhh it was not easy..."

"Can you tell me your story?"

"After we finish this story then I will tell you everything about us."

"Yeayyy!"

"Happy now baby?"

"Mhmm, can I sleep with you and mama tonight?"

Byul's eyes widened at that. Her wife promised some sexy time tonight but if it turns out like this then she will get none.

"I..."

"Of course you can Mi-Sun. Come, let's go to bed."

Solar said snickering at her frustrated wife huffing and puffing on Mi-Sun's bed.
