When Jennie entered Rosé's room through her window, she found Rosé asleep in her bed. She went over to stand beside her side of the bed and checked her forehead temperature. There was a slight fever.

Jennie looked at her watch, then at Rosé's sleeping form, and made a decision.

When Rosé opened her eyes and blinked the sleep away, she quickly looked at the clock on her bedside table. It was 11 pm.

Jennie? Wasn't she supposed to come over? Shit! Rosé sat up.

"Hey, hey... I'm here... are you alright?" Came Jennie's voice from near her window. Rosé's eyes quickly gazed upon Jennie's form, sitting on the window sill, reading one of Rosé's books.

"Jennie, you came"

"Well, in one sense of the word, yea," Jennie said.

Rosé laughed.

"I hope you don't mind..." Jennie said, showing Rosé the book she picked up off her desk to read. "You were asleep when I came over and I checked your temperature and you were still feverish, so I decided to let you sleep some more..."

"And then you picked up one of my books to read?" Rosé asked, trying to formulate just how much time Jennie just sat there.

"Oh, no. soup. I got you some soup. Yea, I headed out again and picked up some chicken soup, cause... well... I assume it should help" Jennie said, pointing to the takeaway container on Rosé's desk.

"Wait right there, I'll get it to you," Jennie said.

Rosé sat back on her bed, and Jennie brought the soup to her, then made herself comfortable right next to her.

It was all too much. Rosé couldn't wrap her head around it. How was she supposed to do this? Why was Jennie still here when she'd found someone close to a soulmate, had she said yes to the girl yet, why did she think to bring her soup, of course, it was  a beautiful gesture, the soups was delicious and so therapeutic to her body right now, shit she forgot to say Thanks.

"Thank you, Jennie, for the soup. And I'm sorry, I made you wait"

"It was no problem at all, I hope it makes you feel at least a little better," Jennie said, reaching out to put a strand of hair behind Rosé's ear, and Rosé had to close her eyes at the feeling of Jennie's fingers brushing against her skin.

"I'm sorry... was I out of place doing that?" Jennie asked, suddenly unsure.

Rosé stayed silent, she finished the last of her soup, and turned to keep the bowl on her bedside table, and the minute she turned back, Jennie's lips were on hers

Thirsty, soft, smooth, passionate, perfect... Home.

Rosé almost allowed herself to get lost in them, but she pulled away.

"Jennie..."

"Rosé, I know... you want to tell me something. I need to talk to you too..."

"Yes..."

"I think I know what you're going to tell me, and I think you know what I might have to say too... but once it's out there..."

They stayed silent, staring into one another's eyes.

"I know..."

"So before we get to that... I was wondering...." Jennie's gaze shifted to Rosé's lips, and it did things to Rosé's insides. This was not what she had planned, but hell if tonight was going to be their last time together she couldn't let her go without one last beautiful memory of them... even though her heart belonged to another, Rosé felt she owed it to herself, to her own heart to give it it's very last experience of being loved by Jennie...
