Chapter 19

"Rosé, I swear I didn't know" came Alice's voice.

"Well somebody obviously knew." Rosé said bitterly.

"I'm sure Jisoo did, so maybe Lisa knew too. but I don't know for sure. but I only informed Lisa about adding you to the guestlist very late, I gotta give her the benefit of the doubt, she doesn't know what's going on between you two, she probably didn't think she needed to warn me." Alice justified.

Jennie couldn't bear to hear more of it. Did Rosé really hate her that much? she walked off into her room, got changed into her bikini and came downstairs, no one was in the main room now, but she could hear some voices from the kitchen.

She walked out to the backyard and dived into the pool, swimming her way underwater towards the corner. Then she did 3-4 laps back and forth, just warming herself up to the water. really trying to get a hold of her emotions.

Finally when she came out again at the corner, she leaned back and simply stared at the other end of the pool.

Minutes later Jisoo, Lisa and Alice walked out, behind them Irene and Seulgi. Lisa and Jisoo began to set up a table with snacks. Alice helped with setting up the BBQ grill.

Jisoo came over to the edge of the pool where Jennie was and offered her a pair of shades.

"The sun's bright today." Jisoo said. Once Jennie had put on the shades Jisoo went back to the table and brought her a cocktail.

"Thanks, Jis'' Jennie said with a smile. Just as Jisoo was about to move away, they spotted Rosé walking out, talking to two of Lisa's friends, she hardly noticed Jennie and Jisoo, too engrossed in her conversation with the two very impressionable girls.

"She didn't know I was going to be here" Jennie said.

"Honestly Jennie, I've lost track about who knows what now. I believe Alice knows there was something between you two, and I know what you'll had. But the rest of them, even Lisa in fact, she wouldn't know enough to realize this would be hard on either of you, seeing each other...

"I have no issue seeing her..." Jennie said  "She does though"

Jisoo shrugged. "What do you want to do?"

"I want to talk to her, but she won't even acknowledge my presence" Jennie said

Jisoo stayed silent for a moment and then said, "That's understandable, she believes you've moved on."

"If only she knew" Jennie said, taking a sip from her drink and looking back out to where Rosé was sitting on one of the poolside chairs, openly flirting with one of the girls there.

It was almost time for them to gather at the tables on the lawn for lunch, and so when Jisoo called out to Jennie, she moved towards the pool steps to get out of the water. She saw Rosé walking her way.

Sometime during Rosé's conversation with the girls, Rosé had taken off her shorts and t-shirt to reveal a red one-piece swimsuit underneath. Jennie assumed she too was soon going to enter the pool, maybe she would have her conversation with her then, if she could find a moment with her alone, and not being crowded by those two friends of Lisa's.

But Rosé hadn't come over to the pool, in fact she had sat back down and laughed away at something the girl said to her.

Now that Rosé was walking towards where lunch was served, Jennie knew she had to pass the pool to get there.

"Rosé'' she called out. But Rosé was clearly pretending not to have heard her.

She called once more "Rosé!",  louder this time, that it caught the attention of the other two girls, and they seemed to have alerted Rosé.
