The class applauded for the two of them after they were done presenting the summary of their assignment.

When the class was dismissed, their professor called them to her desk and congratulated them, telling them she truly didn't expect that this pairing would work out as such a good assignment, but they surprised her and she was proud.

Rosé and Jennie took the compliment and walked out of class together.

Once outside, Rosé exhaled heavily and put her hand out front to Jennie,

"Was nice knowing you Jennie Kim" Rosé said.

"Hey, we don't have to do this you know... we can be friends..." Jennie suggested.

"I don't think I want that..." Rosé found herself saying, and noticing Jennie didn't accept the handshake, she let her hand fall back down to her side, then grabbed onto the strap of her backpack, turned on her heel, and walked away.

And Jennie stood there, watching her disappear amongst the crowd of students.

3 months later

"JENNIE! DID YOU SEE SEXY ROSÉ?!" Jisoo yelled over the loud music at the club they were at tonight.

"WHAT?" Jennie asked, annoyed that Jisoo was trying to make conversation in this loud-ass club.

"I SAID DID YOU SEE SEXY ROSÉ?! SHE'S HERE TOO. SAW HER WITH A BUNCH OF GUYS AND GALS"

"OH, NO I DIDN'T SEE HER"

Just then Jennie felt a hand on her shoulder and when she turned around, Nayeon's lips were on hers, kissing, smiling, hands caressing her face.

"Hey, beautiful" Nayeon said to her lips before kissing her again.

"Hey babe, I was just going to call you, what took you so long?" Jennie asked in her ear.

"I'm sorry, I got caught in traffic..." and Nayeon went on to describe her turmoil with getting here, but Jennie was distracted. Because as Nayeon was talking into her ear, Jennie's eyes locked on brown orbs across the dance floor.

There she was. The woman Jennie couldn't stop thinking about ever since she saw her disappearing through the crowd of students in the corridor. and every time she saw her again on campus, Rosé would just walk past or she'd be too far away. They never spoke again.

Initially Jennie thought she'd get over it. She'd learn to give all her attention to Nayeon, but the truth is, she's not even close to forgetting Rosé. She thinks about her all the time. she hates herself for it but she often finds herself thinking about Rosé even while she's on a date with Nayeon, or they're cuddling on a couch, or making love in bed. Rosé was all she dreamed of at night too. it was quite ridiculous to be honest. the woman was everywhere.

"Jennie!"

Jennie's attention was suddenly brought back to Nayeon

"huh?"

"did you hear anything I just said?"

She looked dazed

"Uh... no... sorry"

Nayeon turned to look at Jisoo, "how much has she had to drink?" she asked

Jisoo just laughed and continued dancing with Lisa, the two of them inseparable on the dance floor.

Nayeon looked back at Jennie, to find her gaze on someone in the distance behind her

"Everything okay, babe?"

"Uh.. yea... everything's fine. I need another drink, wait right here, I'll get us a drink." Jennie said and hurried off towards the bar.

When she got to the bar, she ordered two more drinks and then looked out into the crowd again. Should she go up to her? Would Rosé even talk to her? would that even be a good idea after how they left things? Maybe she could accidentally bump into her or something and see where the conversation goes from there.
