We've been sitting here waiting for almost an hour and I'm getting impatient. I've been pacing between both the waiting rooms, trying to keep myself occupied. Josh is just sitting there listening to music without a care in the world.

"Tara, babe, please come sit down." Josh pleaded.

"I'm running out of patience. We've been here almost an hour!" I admitted.

"I hate waiting too, but being up pacing and stressing isn't going to make her come out here any faster."

"I know. Should I go ask why it's taking her so long?"

"She might just be busy."

I sighed and stormed to the bathroom. I don't understand how he can be so calm! I wish I could calm down, but my medication is at the house. I wouldn't be able to function in society because of my anxiety and depression if I didn't have medication.

I walked up to the mirror and splashed water on my face. Whatever home I get moved to, I hope I can stay there until I turn eighteen. I hate how I don't have a place, or a town that I can call home. I was starting to feel comfortable here and even considered calling Mount Morris home, but I don't see anyone I met here to be worth coming back for if I have to leave.

After I was done staring at myself in defeat, I left the bathroom. Maybe I can ask why it's taking her so long? I got in line behind some lady on an obnoxious phone call. After moving two places in line, the door opened.

"Tara Kellie and Joshua Bailey!"

I got out of line and ran over to to my case manager. Josh got up frim where he was sitting and followed us.

"Let's go to my office." She greeted.

She led us to her office and we both sat down. She looked between us in concern.

"Sorry about the long wait, I was in a meeting."

"It's okay." Josh replied.

"What brings both of you to see me?"

"He chased us down the street with a bat." I pouted while crossing my arms.

Her brown eyes went wide. "Heavens dear, I'm so sorry. Are you identifying your foster father as the one who chased you down with a bat?"

"Yes. She didn't like walking up on us and she went to get him. I went to walk here and Josh came after me, then he came out the door swinging a bat. I'm just glad he didn't chase us here."

"He wouldn't have been able to make it up the hill." Josh chuckled.

"I'm sorry you two, but with allegations of abuse, we will have to move you both to new homes. Isn't there others there too?"

"Yes. Three that are in elementary school."

"I'm going to call an officer to get you two and your stuff, and another two to grab the other three children. They will be easy to place, but you two it might be difficult since you're seventeen."

"Will we get split up?" Josh asked.

"More than likely."

Josh and I looked at each other and frowned. She turned away from us, picked up her phone and started making calls to remove us and the three younger kids from the crazy man who chased us down the street with a bat. An officer picked us up and took us to the house to get our stuff. The cops pulled our foster parents outside and started questioning them. Another officer led us inside so we could pack.

I looked around the bleak peach colored room that I shared with the other two girls and the full-sized bed the three of us slept on and sighed. I don't have much stuff, it all fits in two large suitcases and my personal products in a duffel bag. I'm so glad I get to leave this house, but I hope I don't have to leave this school district.
