Parker pulled in front of my house and we both smiled. Today we went up to Letchworth Park so I could take pictures with the digital camera he got me for Christmas and he could run a trail. After the stressful first few days back, we needed an escape like that.
"Are you coming up?" I asked.
"If I didn't have to go into work, you know I would."
"I know babe."
We kissed each other goodbye before I got out of his truck and he took off towards Big Lots. I hate that I'm the only th one without a job sometimes. I should probably look into getting one, but I'm so scared to be ripped away from Dansville. I'm even considering making this small quiet town my home.
I went inside and went upstairs to my room. Mama Tina is working this weekend, but she'll be off by five unless they ask her to stay. She always complains about how short staffed they are. Part of me wonders if I could get a job there once I graduate. I would need to figure out transportation first.
I spent the next four hours working on my English paper and eating some pizza Mama Tina brought home. I love the Buffalo chicken pizza they make there, so she brings it home occasionally. Around nine there was a knock on the front door, then on my bedroom door. I got up and opened the door to be greeted by a hysterical Francesca.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Nick and I broke up again!" She cried. "It was ugly and dirty right there in downtown Dansville in front of everyone!" She cried.
I wrapped my arms around her and guided her to my bed. "I'm sorry sis. What happened?"
"It all started over what movie we should watch! Voices raise, things come out. We both fight harshly and it is always ugly."
"Are you going to get back with him?"
"After a few days, probably. This is us. It doesn't make it hurt any less."
"Why don't we see if you can stay the night? That way we can sit up and discuss the jerks we have for boyfriends."
Francesca giggled. "Okay."
We got off my bed and went downstairs. Mama Tina was sitting in the living room with Mr. Pete, both with beers in hand. I tried beer twice and hate the taste, I don't see how some people drink it daily.
"What's up girl?" Mama Tina asked.
"Can Francesca stay the night?" I asked.
They looked over at Francesca and she waved. They both smiled at her.
"That's fine. Everything good in your world Fran?" Mama Tina asked.
"No." Francesca pouted. "Nick and I broke up today."
She pointed to the couch, so we both walked over and sat down. Mama Tina is chill, so I don't mind hanging out with her and talk to her about things going on. Sometimes I feel like she likes to try to stay in the high school days forever. Not me, I can't wait to graduate and move on with my life.
"Girl, it's been two years and you two always fight and break up. Why not move on?" Mama Tina asked.
"I don't want to. When it's good, it's great. We just need a few days to cool off. We know how get under each other's skin."
"Who dumped who?" Mr. Pete asked.
"He dumped me. I told him the sex isn't worth the fighting, so he dumped me." She frowned.
"I feel that way about Parker sometimes." I admitted.
"How long has it been for you and him?" Mama Tina asked.
