"Single file, in twos please class. Remember to hold hands!"

Cross snuck a glance at his partner, a dark skinned human, her name was destiny. She tended to wear cartoon patterned clothing a lot, and Cross found her a bit pretty. He flushed as she looked his way, smiling brightly and grabbing a hold of his hand.

"Do you want to be partners with me Cross?"

Said boy was going to nod his head, but a sudden force speedily separated the two apart.

"He wanted to be partners with me!" Nightmare seemed to appear out of nowhere, now holding strongly onto Cross' hand, glaring heatedly at the stunned girl.

Destiny had recovered quickly, pursing her lips in disgruntlement. She expressed to Nightmare how Cross was going to be her partner. That she 'had asked first.'

Nightmare was quick to retort, smugly responding that The smaller skeleton and him were friends, and so 'by default they were already partners.'

Soon after that it had all escalated, what should've been a simple matter of picking a line buddy, turned into a full blown argument between two head strong 6 year olds.

Somewhere in the middle of the dispute, destiny had held firmly to Cross' other hand and steadily the two began to pull.

Cross yelled at the two to stop it, that they were hurting him, though it seemed as if they couldn't hear him over their own banter and war cries.

"Let go, he's my friend and wants to be partners with me!" Nightmare gave a big tug of the boys arm towards himself, glaring up at the girl.

"Ugh go away!" Destiny yanked Cross' arm back towards herself, frowning down at nightmare. "I saw Cross first, and he said he wanted to hold my hand!"

"No he did not!"

"Uhuh is true, he also said that he likes me more than you, why do you think he wanted to be my partner!"

"Well- well Cross said that he thinks your annoying, and only wanted to be partners with you because he feels bad for you" Nightmare smirked smugly sticking a tongue at destiny.

"Not true, you made that up!"

"Is so"

"it's not!"

"Is so"

"No it's n-"

"MRS WINTERS!!" Cross cried.

The two children stood ashamedly in front of Cross, mumbling a soft sorry.

"Now why don't one of you go and find another partner to be with?" Mrs winters smiled kindly, pointing to the array of discombobulated 5 and 6 year olds picking people to pair with.

"But I want to be with Cross!" Both children whined, clinging on to the mentioned skeleton.

Said boy madly blushed, burying his face in the folds of his scarf. He wasn't used to all this attention.

A dragon type child -Bobby- came running up to the teacher, gripping feverishly onto the fabric of her pants. He pulled and whinged at the lady, pointing towards the direction of the fish pond. Something seemed to bob on the surface, before sinking sadly to the gravel at the bottom of the pond.

"Mrs, Mrs, Mrs," Bobby bounced anxiously in place, averting his eyes from the pond to the teacher. "Lunch bag, my lunch, the pond!"

"Bobby I'm talking to Nightmare and Destiny right now, I know that you might want to eat your snack, but I already told everyone that they should wait to when we got to the museum." She gave the boy a pat between his horns, urging him to let go of her.

"But it's sinking!"

"What?"

"My lunch was eaten by the pond!" Bobby shouted, tears welling up in his eyes.

Mrs Winters stood processing the information, before dashing towards the fish pond, Bobby wailing behind her.

The three children stared at each other confusedly.

"But we still haven't decided who's Cross' partner!?" Destiny puffed out her cheeks, crossing her chubby arms over her chest.

"Umm... we could all be partners... a group of three." Cross looked between the two in uncertainly,  he wasn't sure if this was a good idea. But he liked both of the two children in front of him equally and so being partners with both wouldn't hurt.

"But Mrs Winters said that it's pairs of two," Nightmare scowled sticking a purplish tongue towards destiny. "And plus I don't want to hold hands with her!"

"Well I don't want to hold hands with you either you... you bully!" Though her retort was weak, Nightmare looked thoroughly offended. He took a few steps towards her-

"IT'S OK! I can be in the middle and you can both hold either of my hands." As a demonstration, the black and white boy grabbed onto Nightmare's left hand and Destiny's right one. He smiled nervously.

Cross pulled the two children where everyone one was supposed to line up, but now the only sole person in the line was dust, who sat playing hand games with his brother papyrus. The trio joined the two, making a big circle of four skeletal and one human hands playing apple crumble. Papyrus seemed to enjoy seeing everyone struggle to clap hands with their eyes closed.

The group continued playing, until Mrs winters -who had finally fished Bobby's lunch bag out of the fish pond and supplied him with a different meal- clapped her hands. She gestured for everyone to gather again into neat line, checking for any loose hi-vis vests or children.

And when all was accounted for, the class had set off to the museum.

I'm definitely making a part two of this, I just wanted to get smth out before the (very soon) end of the month.
I had mock exams for two weeks, and today was my last exam paper.

I'm pretty sure I failed all three math papers and got a grade 3 in chemistry T^T
