"I see you got your nails and hair done for me," I said. Lai laughed, looking in the bathroom mirror. "I've had this done since the other day but whatever," she replied.
Lai laid back on the bed beside me and crossed her arms over her chest. "What?" She covered her face and I smiled. I scooted closer to her and kissed her neck. Lai ran her fingers over my jawline while I deepened the kiss. I could feel myself getting an erection and this sweats aren't helping. I wrapped Lai's arms around my neck while positioning myself between her legs.
Her phone vibrated on the end table and she pushed me away gently. "It's my friend." I watched as Lai left the room, giggling and carrying on, with her phone pressed to her ear. I'm not the jealous type but damn... Can you at least be attentive to me? I leaned back on a pillow and waited, impatiently, for her to return. My phone went off at that moment and I leaned over becoming even more aggravated. Shit, after this I'm cutting off my phone.
Adrian: I didn't want to talk face to face because I really don't want to cry anymore in front of you but I've been giving it some thought and it's best if we don't talk anymore b/c you aren't ready to be settled in and I am. We have two very different outlooks on love so it's best to separate. You can call or text whenever you need anything business related but other than that we don't have anything else to talk about.
I stared at the text, incredulously. It's cool that she was finally leaving me alone but this was the last thing I was expecting at this moment. I kind of found myself missing her for a minute until I remembered what I have or will have soon.

"Amare was talking about his niece earlier, why didn't you tell me when I was over?" he asked. I shrugged as if he could see me before replying, "I don't know. Maybe because you never asked, you know?"
"You weren't even trying to make conversation with me when I was over." Amare's been spending more time over at my house so he and Brandon can spend time together, and Brandon and I have even built our own friendship. Nothing too major, though. I still have feelings for Michael. Speaking of him, he walked into the kitchen and straight to the refrigerator.
"Hurry up." He beckoned towards the room and I shook my head. He arched his eyebrow before attempting to carry me there but I walked around to the opposite side of the island counter. "Why you running?" he whispered.
"Quit playing." I laughed. He walked to the left and I moved to the right. He walked to the right and I moved to the left. Michael ran around the counter and grabbed me by the arm. I ended up hanging up on Brandon and then trying to catch my breath.
"OK, I'm done playing, for real." I said after slapping Michael. He laughed, sitting on the sofa. I sat beside him and tucked my feet under me. It felt good to be right here with him again because he always knows how to brighten up my days and even though I still have some things to work on, he accepts me for me. "H-have you ever been in a relationship with a former dancer or a current one?" I randomly questioned. Michael just seemed like the type that always gets involved with the no good girls and end up breaking their hearts.
"Why does it matter?" he replied. "Don't respond to my question with a question," I said, poking his arm.
"Yes, I was associated with one but she wasn't like you," he said. I smiled. "How am I?"
"Ambitious," he said. In one word, that describes me? Wow. No one has ever described me as ambitious. Maybe beautiful, cute or sexy but never ambitious. I laid my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. "If I fall asleep, I expect to wake up in your bed. Not being funny," I mumbled. He laughed before turning the television and falling asleep.
