Yaris walked into the room as I was getting dressed. "I'm mad at you. I came to get you and the man was closing the store."
"Tyga came back," I replied, buttoning my shorts. "Oh... What did y'all do?"
I gave her a recap of last night, or what I remembered. Tyga and I didn't do anything bad but I was letting my guard down too soon.
"Adrian and him are definitely getting it in," Yaris said. I sighed, "But he won't say that."
After doing my hair Yaris and I decided to go see my grandmother. It was the least I could do since I was down here.
My father's car was parked in the driveway as we pulled up. I groaned, unlocking my doors.
"Lai, are you sure?" Yaris asked. "Yes, let's just go."
Yaris knocked lightly then stepped back. "I'm so nervous," I admitted. She nodded in agreement as the door swung open and there stood my brother, Amare.
"Lai!" He exclaimed, pushing the screen door back then giving me a hug. "Amare, let go," I chuckled, squirming.
"I haven't seen you in a while," he laughed, letting me go. "No, shit, little boy."
He pushed me playfully, walking into the house. Yaris and I followed, still nervous.
"Hey, baby," my grandmother hugged me. "Hey," I smiled.
"How long are you down here?" "Just for today and tomorrow."
She nodded, "Good thing you stopped by. Your father might want to see you." "No, I'm fine," I replied, walking into the living room where Amare and Yaris were talking.
My grandmother followed, still talking about my father. He was no longer a father in my eyes. You don't just knock your daughter out the picture because of her career choice. He needs to be happy that I helped them out once I began getting money.
Neither, him or my mom, knew about my career when I first started. Everyone thought I was attending college until I told them and they just started giving their opinions like I really gave a fuck.
Money is money. Dancing is my hustle so don't knock it.
"L, you and Kev need to let this shi-- stuff go," Amare said, shaking his head. "I'm past that but someone isn't," I looked at Grandma.
She sighed, "Lain--" "Don't call me by my government," I said, through clenched teeth. "Lai, Kevin is only looking out for you. I don't know why you two are still arguing." I forgot she was a little confused when it came to what I was really doing down there in Miami.
Just then the door opened and my uncle D walked in. He's the type of uncle that just annoys the hell out of everyone.
"W'sup, D?" Amare smiled. D shook his head, "I forgot my wallet but I'll give it tomorrow. Hey, niece!" He kissed my forehead.
"Hey, D," I replied, pushing him away. He smiled, giving Yaris a hug then went to asking grandmama for money.

"What, Tiger?" Lai answered his phone. I laughed, "C'mon, you know my name ain't no damn Tiger."
Lai giggled, "Take a joke, punk." "Fuck you, what are you doing?"
"Not you," she replied. "You will be, though." "Ha-ha, keep dreaming. But I'm chilling with family."
Adrian walked out on the patio, carrying her purse. "Don't forget," she said. I nodded, pecking her lips then watching her walk away.
