// Lai //

(1 Week Later)

"And I want you to meet the person's video I'll be directing. Keep in mind that you aren't the only girl. There is no main girl, but you'll be featured, all right?" Matt said, taking a seat in his office chair. I nodded. All the work for this video was making me tired. It isn't as easy as it looks.

The door opened and in walked 2 beefy bodyguards and the rapper. The Game.

"How we doing, Taylor?" Matt smiled. "I'm good, what's up, Matt?" He sat beside me.

I smiled, extending my hand. "I'm Lai, nice to meet you." "Jay," he replied, shaking my hand. There was a short silence then Matt spoke up, "This is our newest addition."

"Word? What else do you do?" Game asked, sitting back in the chair. "Modeling," I replied. The only reason I didn't include the dancing was because it was something I did 3 or 2 days a week. No one really needed to know all of that. Yaris always asked why I was so secretive about the job but my reply was always: "It's personal and it shouldn't matter."

We had gotten into plenty of arguements about it. He nodded, "That's what's up. Where are you from?" "Santa Ana," I smiled.

"Cool, I like Cali females." "I know, I'm a fan but I didn't ever think that this would be your video."

All 3 of us could have carried a conversation all day long but The Game had to go to the studio and Matt needed to get things ready for the video which was this weekend. Words could not explain how happy I was about it now.

"Have you heard the song?" Yaris asked, resting her laptop on our thighs. "No, you got it?" "Yes ma'am," she smiled, typing. I watched as she clicked the first link, then the song began playing.

It had that Bone Thugs N Harmony flow to it, and I loved it. "It's a pretty good song," Yaris smiled. I nodded in agreement. A few of the rappers seemed familiar but I knew The Game's voice.

"Will you come with me?" "... I don't know about all that."

She finally gave in after I spent almost a hour begging her to come. It wouldn't be right to do business without her because Yaris has been there since diapers, and she isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Now my flight won't be so boring because I have her with me.

( Vid. Day) [Los Angeles]

Yaris and I walked over to the park where everyone was chilling, waiting for everyone else to arrive. Well, it looked like everyone was here except me.

"Lai!" Matt shouted, smiling. I waved, then pulled Yaris with me over to him. "You just kick it with everyone. Everything else should be cool, introduce yourself while we get the men set up."

Yaris and I walked over to a picnic table and sat down. "I'm so excited to do this, thank you, Yaris," I kissed her cheek. "You're welcome, bitch," she smiled.

The video was fun but I was just in my world. Half of the time I was watching the skaters do their thing.

As we were getting ready to leave, Jayceon walked up. "I'm having a small get-together at my house. You and your girl want to stop by?"

"Yes," I smiled. "All right, let me get your number.."

Once Yaris and I got to our hotel we chilled, laying around. "This is why I never visit Los Angeles. It's boring as hell."

"No, it isn't. You're boring," I stood up, "Jay just texted and said everyone is there except us."

Yaris smiled, "Let's get our swimsuits then."

Jayceon's house was huge but his backyard was better. He had a few people out back, cooking food. Girls were chilling in their swim wear, and the boys were just laid-back.

This was my type of cookout. Everyone is just relaxed.

"Hey, baby girl," Jay greeted me with a hug. I wrapped my arm around him, smiling. Yaris walked off with some guy as Jay led me over to where a group of men were sitting with some women.

"Everybody, this Lai!" he shouted. The girls looked at me then shook their head in disapproval. I was used to girls treating me that way, though. I was doing something right obviously.

I was getting the feeling of disrespect as they all sat there, staring at me. "Hi," I spoke up.

"You want something to drink?" A girl asked, holding up a bottle. Her friends began laughing as I shook my head. "What are you trying to say, Adrian?" Jay asked, pointing at her.

"Nothing, I mean you bring her over here like she's relevant and she's acting like she doesn't want one of these rappers over here.. You're a video vixen just like the rest of us," she smiled at me.

"No one ever sai--" "Just come on," Jay pulled me away. We caught a few stares as we walked into the house. These females were so jealous.

"Ayo, Chris!" Jay shouted, opening the door. I was basically holding him up because he was stumbling everywhere.

"What's up?" Two light-skinned boys walked in, carrying their platic red cups.

I stared at the shoter one and he was staring back at me, then he smiled.

"What's up?" He said. "Hi," I smiled, sitting on one of the stools.

"This Lai," Jay pointed, sipping his drink. "I'm Tyga," he said, holding out his hand.

"How are you doing, Tyga?" I asked, putting an emphasis on his name. "Livin', you?"

"I'm fine," I replied. "Chris, pour her a drink," Jay ordered.

Chris nodded, "What you want, Lai?" "I don't want anything."

Tyga kissed his teeth, "What you come here for then?" "He invited me," I replied, pointing to Jay.

"G, you got to stop inviting stuck-up females." He looked at Jay.

Stuck up? "Because I don't want any liquor means I'm stuck-up? Wow, that's new," I chuckled.

Tyga looked at me, licking his lips. "Ha, I never said that."

Those lips, eyes, and that smile were slowly killing me. Tyga could get it, but his attitude would have to change before he even thought about getting with me.

"You just lied," Chris laughed. Tyga eyed him then looked back at me.

"Your friend's telling the truth. You called me stuck-up then said you didn't say it," I stood up, "But I know I'm not."

Yaris and I sat on the side of the pool, talking and laughing. Most of these people were cool but you had to get to know them.

The Adrian female was still throwing attitude but that was fine with me. I would be back in.Miami tomorrow and she would still be in LA, the place I never planned on coming back to.

"Trying to tan?" A husky voice whispered in my ear. Yaris looked over then bit her lip.

I looked back to see Tyga, licking his lips. "What's up?"

"I'm about to leave and I want your number. Give it," he demanded, holding out his phone.

I saved my number then laid back. He smiled, walking off.

"I see you, Lai," Yaris chuckled. "Nah, he's just a cool guy."

Little did I know I was in for it, for real.
