I rubbed my eyes, taking another sip of the energy drink. It was the only thing keeping me going which is good because I really don't want to fall asleep.

Each time I tried my head would start hurting and I honestly can't deal with that right now. Those long nights at the club are the reason for this.

Yaris's voicemail came on again, making me even more frustrated. Why does everyone have to be asleep when I need to vent? The man from the other night had been coming to the club a lot lately and he was cool when he wasn't drinking.

His name is Kirk and he really intrigues me. That boyish smile, deep brown eyes, and he was dark-skinned to top it all off. Just thinking about him made me bite my lip. Anyways, I know not to get involved with some local guy because that's just risking my job and I can't see myself not dancing. My phone began vibrating on the table, knocking my thoughts aside.

"Hello?" I stood up from the sofa and made my way into the bedroom. "You call?"

"Yes, what or should I say who were you doing?" "Man, I was clearly sleeping."

I was joking but he knows that I'm referring to Adrian. That's why he gets offended every time I bring up other females but it's not even worth tripping over. Right now wasn't a good time to argue.

"Somebody needs to take a joke," I replied, chuckling. He was silent for a moment then spoke up again.

"So, when are you coming back to Los Angeles?"

"Um, I really can't say. Why? You miss me?"

"No, I miss chilling with you but I don't miss you. If that makes sense," he laughed.

"Boy, boo. You miss me. Admit it," I responded, smiling.

That night I finally got some rest without the headaches...

When you are on stage, you're supposed to own it. Everyone's attention should be on you at all times. You should be the topic of discussion and if not then you aren't doing something right.

That's personally how I feel about dancing.

Every club has it's "it girl" but you have to earn that title. I don't dance because it is fun or I like following after the money.

I dance because it's my job and I love having male attention. Yeah, some of them think bad things about me but it's whatever. Everyone downs strippers because they come off as hoes. We're only trying to make money just like everyone else, plus, it's illegal for us to sleep with our clients.

Some of us follow that law but some of else don't go by it and end up getting fired/arrested.

I gripped onto the pole, then began pulling myself up. The men or boys, whatever, were cheering me on whilst throwing money up. Tell me that doesn't sound good.

The crowd got louder, causing me to smile.

My phone began ringing as soon as I walked of out my bathroom.

"Yeah?" I answered. "Lai, I have some good news but you have to be down for this," Yaris replies.

"Tell me," I urged her. "OK, theres this job I got for you. It's all yours if you can get to Long Beach by next week."

Long Beach? I really didn't know anyone over there and it depends on what the job is. Plus I've heard bad things about some parts of that place and I like my life so I'm not trying to get shot up or anything.

"What do I do?" I asked. "The same thing you're doing in Miami."

I'd be a fool if I didn't accept this offer. The job would have me closer to family and Yaris. That doesn't sound bad at all.
