A Long Day and a Conclusion

6 years later

You sat outside, a hand resting on your rounded stomach. Mateo and Alvaro were nearby, desperately trying to hunt down a frog to please their animal-loving uncle. Antonio stood to the side, smiling good-naturedly as he held Cecilia's hand.

At little Alvaro's gift ceremony 6 years ago, he had been gifted with the power of turning invisible. He, like his father and aunt, was also unaffected by the Madrigal's gifts. Mateo had the ability to fly, and was even able to sprout tiny white wings from his back that propelled him into the air whenever necessary. It had been quite strange at first, but now everybody was envious of him.

Ruby and Isla, Dolores' twin daughters, were able to tell whether someone was lying or not, but only if they held hands while the person in question spoke. They still fought about how unfair it was.

Andres, Dolores' fourth child, was able to tell when somebody died. At the gift ceremony, he had revealed that Mariano would die in 53 years, and he had quickly been silenced after that. He was no longer allowed to tell people their death date.

Her most recent child, a girl named Sara, was only four years old, and hadn't had her gift ceremony yet.

You, however, still hadn't given birth to your final child.

Your eldest, Miguel, had only just had his gift ceremony. He, like Alvaro, was immune to the Madrigal's powers, but had the gift of reading minds. He was extremely difficult to be around, especially since he didn't always play by the rules, and often invaded private thoughts.

Your second child, Leonardo (or Leo for short) was 3 years old, and still learning to walk and talk. Unlike Miguel, who had his father's intricate hazel, Leo shared your (E/C) eyes.

Luisa had recently married Gael, her redhead boyfriend, and revealed that she didn't want children, to which everyone had laughed and said that they already knew.

Mirabel, on the other hand, was a different story.

She had gotten pregnant and not told anyone who the father was two years ago, and Abuela had been furious. But she now had a beautiful baby girl named Sofía, who had vibrant blue eyes, which were quite rare for Encanto, and light brown hair.

Mirabel still refused to give up who the dad was.

Antonio, of course, had started dating Cecilia a year ago. She had finally gathered up the courage to ask him on a date, since he had been too shy to do it himself.

Your due date was any day, and your heart raced just thinking about it. Originally, you had only wanted one child - two just seemed like so much work. But Camilo had pointed out how happy Dolores looked, and... you hadn't been able to resist. Eating Julieta's food made the birthing process so much easier, you hardly minded - it was caring for the children that was the difficult part.

"Mama," Leo whined as Miguel chased him around the yard, your youngest son struggling to run on his chubby toddler legs. "Make him stop!"

You sighed, struggling to stand up. Camilo raced to your side from where he had been talking to Carlos, who had his oldest daughter Lillith on his shoulders.

"Here, take it easy," he said quickly, helping you to your feet. He had his unruly hair tied back in a rough bun, and there was a bit of rough stubble on his jaw. You ran your fingers over it teasingly, and he grinned and rolled his eyes. "There's never any time to shave with the kids around. Especially since Miguel isn't in the nursery anymore - it's difficult to run between two rooms ever morning and night!"

"If you would just let me help-" you started, but he quickly cut you off.

"Nuh-uh. You need to rest. Our third could come any day."

You sighed, fiddling with a loose coil of his cocoa-colored hair. The sun shone down, hinting at the illusion of a perfect day. But your children were screaming in the background, Mateo had just scraped his knee, and Lillith was pulling at her father's hair.

You still had a long day ahead of you.

A/N: I'm so sorry I ended it like this 😂 but I just wasn't getting any inspiration. If you guys wanted me to write something else about the family or really anything at all, I would be more than happy to! But other than that, I think this concludes the book. For real. I'm gonna cry haha it was so fun to write and taught me a lot about the process of wattpad stories, which isn't really that complicated 👀

Anyway, I'm starting a new Camilo fanfic !

I know it probably isn't going to be as popular as this one (what am I saying this book wasn't even that popular 💀) but I'm really excited to write it. If you want to know what it's about, see below hehe. I might post the first chapter within the next two or three days!!

Basically, your family and Camilo's are the exact opposite, down to the Tia's/Tio's. You were raised to kill Camilo, just like your siblings and cousins were raised to kill the rest of the Madrigal family. Your powers weren't gifts, they were curses.

But one night, you sneak out to see the Madrigal family in person for the first time. And suddenly you are swept up in the magical beauty and kindness of their family - a kindness you have never experienced.

In the end, it's up to you whether you will continue with your malicious plans or instead attempt to save the family.

The choice is yours.

Thank you all so much! ❤️
