Excuse the issue with the formatting in this part. It can't be helped, Wattpad keeps messing it up.

You latched onto your desk, bored. It was currently the final period of college. You began to contemplate at your professor and the rest of your class, then back to your messy table filled with textbooks and notebooks. Finally at last, the school bell rang. You exited the classroom after bidding goodbye to your teachers, grabbing your bag and hurriedly heading to Dave's house.

Dave was your tutor. You were struggling extremely badly in mathematics, especially with algebra, so your parents decided to get you a tutor. They found Dave to be most suiting for the job. Despite being 1 year apart from your age, he had already graduated and become a tutor as a part time job due him being unable to enlist for any full time jobs due to his legs being broken. Compared to you, a person struggling with an essential subject in education, it was safe to say that he's much more intelligent than you were.

After contemplating and zoning out so much, you finally arrived at Dave's house. Taking multiple deep breaths, you pressed on his doorbell. You heard a slight buzzing sound accompanied with a short bell chime. "Coming!" You heard him call out from inside. "Give it a minute or less."

You heard his wheelchair squeaking while he was going over to the door. You had to admit, it was slightly hilarious to you. When the door swung open, you were met with Dave whom had a jolly smile. "Hello Y/N!" Dave greeted you happily. You smiled back in response, entering. "Is it just me, or do you look more beautiful than before today?" He joked while you blushed in response. "Hush, you flirt," you joked back, sitting down on one of the chairs while fixing up your school uniform skirt near his coffee table.

"I went to a school for a quick meeting with someone, till some toothpaste haired kid started to beatbox for some reason," Dave sighed. "So I played along, but then he irritated me since I was losing. Then that little annoying ragamuffin Playrobot and that fat rat Garett interrupted me! I had to sit through the entire song. It was a pain."

You stifled a laugh. "Now, getting back to business!" Dave clapped his hands once or twice to get your attention. "We'll revise some Algebra 1 division. You need to work on the division symbol... you keep making it look like a subtraction symbol with a colon symbol in front of it." You laughed it off awkwardly. "I'm sorry, it can't be helped. I just tend to write things way too fast, haha.. it's become a habit," you replied. "Oh well, guess I'll have to teach you then!" He said, slowly moving his wheelchair behind you.

You gasped quietly as he leaned forward, looming over your right shoulder while grabbing your arm gently, guiding you to write like you were a primary scholar. "Something like this," he said. "I won't judge you for being unable to write that symbol properly, I honestly had the same issue when I was your age. I just learned to slow down. Now- try writing it out yourself."

You were blushing bashfully, but luckily Dave didn't notice. He let go of your arm for you to write freely. "Like this, right?-" you laughed awkwardly. "You got it! Now just don't write way too fast, no one's gonna rush you. Now now, we're gonna revise some facts on division in Algebra 1," he said proudly while slowly moving his wheelchair back to his position.

While he was talking, you couldn't help but get lost in thought, playing with the pen in your hands with your fingers.

You've had a crush on Dave for a while now. He started tutoring you 3 months ago, guiding you through each step and giving lengthy but reasonable explanations. You couldn't help but fall for the guy. He had a charming personality, flirting with you every now and then jokingly. He would always help you when you had problems. Asides from that, Dave was also a pretty rational person who was considerate. He had anger issues, but he never lashed out on you. You've always admired his teaching skills. He was qualified to be a teacher, unlike you. In your opinion you would probably just end up flipping burgers at a McDonald's of some sorts.

"Y/N... are you listening to me?" Dave asked, raising an eyebrow. You jumped. "I'm sorry. I was just thinking about... some things," you apologized, pitifully looking down at the books and papers in front of you. "Has something been bothering you lately?" He asked with a concerned look. "I can listen if you want."

You gulped. "Uhm.." you awkwardly muttered. "Well, uh... I've had this... um... thing.. uhhh..."

Dave cocked his head to one side. "I'm all ears. Go on, it's okay," Dave said considerately. Your heart just skipped beats and thumped rapidly. You swear you can spit out your heart any second now. "I..." you blushed, gripping on your shirt awkwardly. "I... have something to tell you." Dave blinked, "What is it?"

"I... don't get mad at me, okay? Please?" You stuttered, not knowing what to say next. "Why would I get mad at you?" He said with a reassuring smile, scooting closer to you. "Well, um, uh, maybeit'sbecauseIlikeyoupleasedon'toverreact-" you quickly muttered the final part of your sentence, confusing Dave. "I couldn't hear what you said, could you.. please slow down?" He asked, staring at you. "I- I like you, okay?" You embarrassingly looked off to one side. "I.. I've been thinking a lot about you lately. I've always fawned over the thought of you being together in a relationship with me.. and I... want to be more than best friends..."

There was an awkward pause between you both. Dave looked flabbergasted. You quickly broke the silence, "I understand if you don't feel the same way, I can move on, really-"

You were cut off with a small kiss on the lips. You froze while he smiled with a tint of beet red on his face. "Who told you I didn't?" Dave ruffled your hair while grinning sweetly. "You've been on my mind a lot too lately, Y/N. I love you."

You smiled in relief, hugging him while he gently pet your back. For the rest of your time, he held onto your hand while you both cuddled on the couch.
