"Excuse me?"

Diluc looked at (Y/n) unamused as she told him something that was probably outrageous. they were eating dinner together along with Kaeya who looked surprise as well.

(Y/n) gazed down at her plate of food and sighed, "i want to go back, no i need to go back."

It's both, she wants to go back, but there's something she needs to do. (Y/n) had thought about it last night, she knew inside she needed to go back despite her father manipulating her to stay in Mondstadt.

"Why do you need to go back? did you forget to bring something? if so, i can retrieve it for you," Diluc offered while cutting his piece of meat.

Shaking her head in a 'no' manner, "no, i didn't forget anything, i need to do something. an old friend of mine made me realize how important it is for not just me, but to him also."

Kaeya tilted his head, "i'm assuming this 'he' was the person that rejected you before you came here."

Nodding meekly, (Y/n) avoided everyone's eyes on her. it was silent for a moment and she doesn't know if the two brothers will let her go back to Inazuma.

Until she heard a tired sigh from the pyro user, "you may go back to Inazuma, only if i'm coming with you."

Looking up quickly, you see Diluc still continuing to eat his own meal, "r-really?!"

He nodded, "how else will you get there? also, i'm sure you can't really fight off monsters if you're outnumbered."

Kaeya smirked, "look at you, acting like a hero, huh?"

"Shut it."

(Y/n) smiled thankfully, "are you coming Kaeya?" the said man shook his head and leaned on the palm of his hand, "i can't leave my duty as calvary captain, but i'm sure Diluc can protect you and if not, your favorite person will to your rescue." winking at the flustered (Y/n).

Diluc made a 'tsk' noise while (Y/n) giggled at Kaeya who was flexing his biceps playfully.

"I can't help but asked why you need to go back to Inazuma. aren't you happy in Mondstadt, princess?"

Smiling at the memories where you met so many wonderful and kind people here, your heart still belongs in Inazuma no matter what.

"The reason why i need to go back is because of him and..."

Once finishing your explanation and plan why you need to go back so urgently, the two brother's eyes widened for the first time. though they never knew the truth about your childhood or your clan, they can't help, but wonder why this is a must.

Kaeya blinked his shock away and hummed in amusement, "i see, so that's why."

Diluc stayed silence for a second until he spoke, "if you believe that's what you need to do, then i won't stop you." Kaeya glanced at his brother and back to you, "all i'm going to say is good luck, princess. you'll need it."

2nd POV

One week later

"Adeline has packed all of your belongings for you," Diluc informed while you patted down your dress. "i'll miss her," you mumbled to which Diluc hummed and led you to the group of familiar people that were waiting for you.

"Are you really leaving?" Amber asked as she teared up a bit. you nodded and the outrider immediately engulfed you in a warm hug. you staggered back a bit, but nonetheless, embraced her back tightly.

You will truly miss your friends from Mondstadt. it's been a great journey with them as they taught you new things you never knew about. they all brought a smile to your face when you sometimes feel like the world was against you.

Exploring the region was a beautiful sight including all the delicious food you had tried for the first time. without them, you would've been a little lost soul. hopefully one day, you can repay their kindness.

Releasing you gently, Eula patted Amber in comfort who could only smile tearfully in thanks. soon, Klee slowly walked up to you and gazed down at her feet sadly. you smiled down at the girl who avoided your eyes, "i'll miss you Klee."

Klee sniffed and opened her backpack only to hand you a crumpled up paper. taking it without saying anything, you see a picture of you and Klee in cartoon drawings. both of you were holding hands as well as smiling widely.

Not wasting time, you bent down and embrace Klee who hugged you back with much love. "come visit me when you can," you whispered to her ear and you felt her nodding against your shoulder.

Then suddenly you watch Venti walking up you, "i'm coming with you." before you could say anything, the bard raised his hand in a stop motion, "i don't take no as an answer, ehe~!"

Knowing he will still follow you back to Inazuma, you agreed to let the bard travel with you. ignoring Diluc's slight irritation since the bard is now coming, you asked Venti a question, "may i ask why though?"

You thought he would answer, "i want to be there for you," or "i want to see the beautiful region." but all he answered was, "i want to taste their sake alcohol again!"

Blinking once and twice, you deadpanned at the nonstop giggling bard. now you know why Paimon is sometimes irritated at the bard, he's a real jokester.

"I'm just joking!" Venti said as he patted your shoulder to which you roll your eyes at. sometimes you can't really get use to his 'jokes' because he's mostly unpredictable at times.

After greeting everyone a tearful goodbye, Diluc and Venti led you away. once your friends from Mondstadt were out of your sight, the tears you were holding back finally dropped down against your soft cheeks.

Then you felt your crying figure being pressed up against a broader figure as well as a glove hand caressing your hair. "you will see them again," Diluc quietly spoke to which you smiled at.

Letting go of your figure, Diluc asked you something that made your heart pound in anticipation.

"Are you ready to go back to Inazuma?"
