"Where are you going, my lady?"

(Y/n) halted her steps and look to her left only to see a few servants gazing at her in a worry expression. she doesn't know if they heard what happened in the office earlier, but she ignored her tightening chest, "i'm going to take a walk, please tell sir Diluc if he ask about my whereabouts."

Before Adeline could ask any further or at least tell her to bring a coat, (Y/n) had already left. the maids and butlers gaze at each other in a worry. though they heard the argument earlier, they could only hope everything goes back to normal soon.

Soon a person walked in which was our favorite calvary captain. Kaeya walked in casually, but with his sharp senses he could sense something wrong, "what's going on here?" he asked the servants who were gathered together.

Adeline cleared her throat, "nothing sir, just a small dispute that happened earlier."

Tilting his head, Kaeya looked around only to realize (Y/n) was missing. "where is she?" he asked. Hollie knew who Kaeya was talking about, "she went out in a walk, sir."

Looking back at the entrance of the door, "at this time? the sun is nearly setting. she better get back soon before it's too dark. after all, it's too dangerous for a lady like her to go out on her own."

That made everyone else feel more anxious, but they could only respect her decision, so they waited.

And waited.

The moon is now already out along with the stars. the sun is fully resting now and the once white clouds are forming into big gray ones. showing it's going to rain soon. and since it's night time, that meant hilichurls or mages are out exploring the night.

Kaeya sat up from his seating position, "i'm going out."

"Going out where?" one of the maids ask and Kaeya didn't look back, "going to find her."

Before Kaeya could open the door, Diluc walked out of his office and downstairs, "where are you going at this time?"

Scoffing, "obviously on finding her, she hasn't return yet," Kaeya should've left right then and there, but of course he had to say something to provoke his adopted brother. "after all, you were the one who started all this, didn't you?"

Diluc glared, "this is not between me and you so stay out of it."

Now looking back, Kaeya chuckled, "what? it's true isn't it? we both know she's not the type to stay out late at night. you did something to her to the point she's hasn't returned yet."

"Watch your damn mouth, Kaeya."

The next words that Kaeya said made Diluc glare hardened, "how about you watch yours-" without wasting anytime, Diluc grabbed Kaeya's collar from anger. Kaeya smirked, "seems like i hit the spot."

2nd POV

You left without saying anything or bringing anything. the only thing you could focus on was what happened earlier. never in your life did you think you would outburst like that.

Overthinking was one of your weakest traits. you tend to overthink things to the point your insecurities starts showing.

Were you too clingy? too sensitive? maybe you were too inconsiderate for asking a sensitive topic.

Sighing, you didn't realize where you were going until you felt a droplet of water on your cheek. blinking up, you noticed gray clouds covering the sky. needing to go back, you turned around only to notice you're in a unfamiliar place.

Soon, you could hear wolves howling from the distance, but the only thing you can think about is where you were. you were so distracted that you didn't realize it's nighttime already.

Looking around you, you can only see tall trees, wildflowers, and more trees. just looking at them makes you frustrated. why did you have to put your head in some clouds and walk without knowing where you're going.

You don't even know how far you walked, but you're pretty sure you walked a long distance since it's been hours. you're not sure if you're in Mondstadt anymore.

Sitting down and letting the cold rain fall down while you take shelter under the tree, you leaned your head back against the tree so you could let the nature pour its feeling on you.

Your heart started to tightened again as you thought about Diluc. you were stupid enough to think you can get close to him, but no. the universe is just playing tricks on you. telling you that you don't deserve anyone. no one is allowed to get close to you because you are the black sheep.

The parasite, the girl who sticks onto someone like a kitten, the outcast, that's what you always think you are.

Curling up your form and leaning against your knees to where it was up to your chest, you shivered from the cold raindrops. not caring you will get severely sick from this, you thought about how Ayato would comfort you at this time.

How he always distract you from your own negative thoughts or would buy you some bubble tea to cheer you up. caress your head or knuckles just to bring a smile to your face.

It has only been a month or so since you left Inazuma and you miss it so much already. the sakura blooms blooming outside, the stray foxes you would sometimes pet, and the delicious home food you grew up eating.

Slowly you closed your eyes and let the rain fill your ears. breathing softly and imagining a smiling Ayato, you felt a hand grazing your head gently. thinking it was just your imagination, you let the warm hand continue to caress you so nicely.

The bandaged hand continued on caressing your resting figure and soon the unknown person bent down to your height and smiled, "it's been awhile, lady Kimura."
